Re: I have some questions about Bible passages...
In answering your question, Poptart, I will say that we need to look at the words of Christ, Himself. In John 14:6, He says: I am the way and the truth and the life, nobody gets to the father, but through Me. This is a very exclusive verse. It says what it says. He is the only true God. He is the on...

Re: I have some questions about Bible passages...
Hi Sam. What's new with you? Felix, in the verses you discussed, I glean the following. First, Elijah had just ascended to heaven in a firey chariot. Immediately after this, God's spirit rested on Elisha. He was God's prophet. His main representative on the world. This was known by the people. The p...

Okay. Just swung by and saw this topic. Ask me and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability. Who did Jesus pray to? He prayed to God, the Father. Jesus is God, the Son. Each part of the trinity is distinct, yet one. For instance, only God, the Father, knows when the end will be. Not Jesus. Not t...

Oh wow, here's another review from Rolling Stone, a home of all things hair metal (in the words of some) in the 80's. This one is for Warrant-Cherry Pie In view of Mötley Crüe's and Ozzy Osbourne's ongoing mega-stardom, it's hard to imagine that success in heavy metal is the result of anything other...

Re: Sonic Youth
So, peer pressure brought you to 'enjoying' Sonic Youth? Nope. Back in the 80s my musical attention was focused more on things like acid rock, blues, 50s era rockabilly, roots reggae and ska. I merely meant to say that my first exposure to alternative bands had nothing to do with these music critic...

Go ahead and believe that if you want. Here's some reviews that this magazine spewed toward the hair metal bands you claim they 'fawned' over. Motley Crue-Shout at the Devil In short, originality is not this group's long suit. But then, who expected it to be? The whole point of bands like Motley Cru...

Martyred. Do me a favor and imagine that cover flipped around, with Sonic Youth on it, and the caption: Noisy Rock It's loud. It's ugly. It won't go away. On the road with Sonic Youth. Now, how would you feel about that? Does it give you a feeling that Rolling Stone cares about giving this band (or ...

I only know of the article because the Crue was on the cover. It was on the inside of their Decade of Decadence album in a collage. However, I have never read the article. I read Rolling Stone several times. Never really found anything that appealed to me within those pages. You've got to be kiddin...

Okay. These are usually less than stellar when heated in the microwave or oven. However, I like to fry them on each side in a skillet in a little olive oil and then serve with guacamole and salsa. It gets all sides crispy and tastes incredible. I'd recommend.

That's just totally false. The Minneapolis scene was glommed onto by the entire music press. No, really they were not. Unless you count Prince and Morris Day as part of that scene. I still think it's somewhat funny that AIC opened for Poison on a leg of their Flesh and Blood tour. The only band to ever open for Poison AND Slayer, perhaps? On second thought, Poison did have Life, Sex, and Death open for them on the Native Tongue tour. They were a little on the heavy side. They...

At any rate, cheesewhiz is shit. In philly, there are tons of places that use it and always have, and there are tons of places that actually use cheese and other nice, fresh ingredients. I heard a minister say that the translation (of loosing and binding) has always been backwards. That it means what is stated in the Lord's prayer. However, somebody here might have more experience with Greek than I.
By the way, Poptart, great response. I couldn't agree more myself.
