It's gone so far as the OU SPIRIT SQUAD being asked...NOT to throw the horns down sign.

I've been to the Red River Shootout 5 times...this will be #6 but will be my first time going IN to the game.
Enjoy the game, I have been a few times and it is awesome.
As for the Horn's down gesture I just don't understand it. I saw OU players and fans doing it last year in games against Baylor and Ok lite. WTF? You aren't even playing them and they are so far in your dome that you need to call attention to them? The whole planet knows who you are referencing with the gesture and those players and fans are just bringing attention to them. I don't get it.
As an official I totally get it. Rep your team, don't downplay your opponent. That falls right into the UNS category along side things like the throat slash.
All that said, OU wins this by 25 as Texas is missing a ton of their defensive starters. This is also the first time Hurts takes the field and his team isn't ranked in the top 5. That is just an amazing stat.

The fact OU fans do it is because we know how bad it gets in Tejas’ craw. It’s just reminding Tejas that..even tho we’re rooting for OU against another team that we keep them in mind with the fact they SUCK.
I’ve never seen an OU player do it DURING a game with another team unless you’re talking about our Center doing it last week after the KU game..but OU/Tejas week had officially started.
Yeah definitely saw it multiple times in other games.
It just strikes me as Texas living in their dome. Why give them recognition when they aren’t around? Kinda like ATMs song all about Texas rather than themselves.

Strange game. I don’t think Texas could play much worse yet they only lost by 7. The better QB looked to be playing for Texas most of the day. Hell M2 or the midget could have completed some of those throws Hurts did where no one was within 5-7 yards of the OU receivers.

This game was won on field position and the OU front 7. Wonder what the Texas return guy was thinking. Plus it makes you wonder if Stoops had been let go years ago maybe the OU defense would have been better earlier.

Removing these gestures keeps it from being soccer. Soccer has idiots running around and pulling their shirts off and sliding on their knees all over the field. Then they do little dances and hop around. By keeping said gestures out of the greatest game we keep it from acting like soccer.
