Conservatism, The Environment and renewable resources
If you can power your civilisation on cheap, abundant, renewable and safe sources of energy...that aren't reliant on other countries and governments...
...why wouldn't you?
If you think YouTube "rolling coal" videos are funny...
...kill yourself.
If you think articles attacking Greta Thunenberg are "edgy"...
...kill yourself.
If you throw trash out of your moving vehicle on the highway because "Take that LIB-TARDS!"...
...kill yourself.
...or just post at .net

Kill yourself.

Because oil and coal are clean and will last forever.

Natural gas is clean and abundant. But a Democrat pushed us away from it and now we burn it off at the well source in many cases because we have an oversupply.

Re: Conservatism, The Environment and renewable resources
Natural gas is not “clean.” It’s cleaner than coal or oil but definitely not clean. A useful bridge between the dirtier alternatives and 100% renewable (or close to 100%, I don’t think 100% will ever be feasible). But a temporary bridge.Left Seater wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 2:41 pm Natural gas is clean and abundant. Also if there’s an oversupply, as you claim, then why do we need to keep fracking for more? Fracking itself is highly polluting and water intensive. Shouldn’t there be some concern about the many areas that don’t have an adequate supply of clean drinking water?

They should "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps" and put their faith in the market economy.
Put your "capitalism" in a long tube and pour contaminated water through that to remove pollutants.

Right. Because producers would rather waste a resource that they could otherwise sell.Shlomart Ben Yisrael wrote: "oversupply" is not the reason it gets burned off...

Re: Conservatism, The Environment and renewable resources
They don’t burn off natural gas from natural gas wells. That really would be stupid, even in Texas.
They burn it off from oil wells because it’s a byproduct of pumping oil, they’re not there to produce gas (it’s not economical to capture the small volumes of gas produced) and, in most cases, it’s illegal to vent it without burning it off.

Re: Conservatism, The Environment and renewable resources
I didn’t say they flared it from Natural gas wells. They do flare it from oil wells because it isn’t oil. If we used more of it they would capture it and sell it. The process to capture and produce it is done in a number of places. We don’t do it more because the market doesn’t support it. Hence oversupply.
And sure it isn’t Mikey’s magic shade tree clean, but then again the production of his shade tree and battery isn’t super clean either. But it is clean enough to burn in most of our homes on our stove.

That and assholes like you who would rather burn a gallon of gas than plug in a solar panel.
Re: Conservatism, The Environment and renewable resources
Are you clinically dumb?
The planet is currently in-between ice ages.
Do you understand how violent and extreme the climate gets as we near the next Ice age?
You are clueless about this science because you're a sheep.
You gotta love the left wing crazies talking about the recent storms and hurricanes, when on a planet that's 5 billion years old, the next ice age is just around the corner.

I have to agree with the EAP kid on this one. Earth will take care of herself. Nothing we do matters, except to breed -- as Tarkus used to argue repeatedly.

Basically, it was a stupid idea. Anybody with half a functioning brain would have realized that before they even considered building it.Innocent Bystander wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 9:28 pm [What happened to the experimental French solar panel highway, btw? What would need to happen to make it feasible instead of a failure?
If you want to cover a road with solar panels, not such a bad idea itself because roads take up a lot of space, put them on a canopy over the road. Not on the ground where people will be driving on them.
![Rolling Eyes :meds:](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
The more I think about this the harder it is to believe that someone would actually do anything that stupid and think it would work.
A lot of schools and businesses with large parking lots are putting solar canopies over the parking areas. That’s an excellent application because you can put all that space to good use, they’re relatively easy to build and people like having a shaded place to park.

Re: Conservatism, The Environment and renewable resources
Smith & Wesson has recently put most of their very large employee parking lot under solar panel canopies. I am sure this conflicts the hell out of libtard. A merchant of death trying to save the planet.
I suspect it simplifies snow cleanup as well, assuming they get it before it blows all over the place.
I would also think that asphalt life might be extended if it doesn't have the sun beating on it as much.
I will probably be going there tomorrow. We sold them an x-ray they use to scan all incoming repair jobs. You'd be amazed how many idiots send their firearms in will lead in them. Kinda stands out a bit on an xray.

Re: Conservatism, The Environment and renewable resources
I have always thought that solar canopies over road bridges would be a good idea. Not like we haven't done it in the past. Of course that was because the bridges were made out of shit that rots when it gets wet. I ran the idea past a friend who is a bridge structural engineer and he said it would never be feasible as the wind loads would require the bridges to be ridiculously overbuilt.Mikey wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 11:21 pmBasically, it was a stupid idea.
