Beth Hart, eh?
I have a soft spot for women who sound like they're making love to their instrument. It's not everyone's cup of tea (see 'rubber ducky squeaking') -- but she's a good entertainer, one of those musicians Papa Willie used to praise, because of what they were willing to draw out of themselves for their music.
It's still white blues, might even be Jewish blues or Mid-Atlantic blues with that accent. But her rapport with the audience is so mellow, like a happy hippy or Bob Ross, contrasted to the sex in her voice when she sings.
Great choice for scraping the ice off in below zero weather this morning. Better than 'Tennessee whisky.'
Thank you, EAP.

At the end of her paradiso dvd.
Live from Amsterdam,
She does a smokin hot sex dripped version of led zeppelin's "whole lotta love".

I have that CD with Joe Bonamassa. Don't really care much for here voice. I think it's that warbly vibrato.
I was at a Jeff Beck concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 2017 where she came out and did one song. This actually was pretty damn good (speaking of legendary material)...

Same here. She's ok but doesn't inspire much excitement from me. She reminds me of a female Chris Robinson (Black Crowes). Both try too hard to fit a particular image of who they believe they are supposed to be and sacrifice authenticity by doing so. Whatever; it seems to have worked for them and they both have played with legends - Hart w/ Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa, Gov't Mule, Robinson w/ Jimmy Page and I'm sure others. Good for them.

1999 I heard L.A. song on the radio, and I was hooked.
For some, she's definitely an acquired taste. But since I love rock and blues, she spoke to me right away.
I love artists with soul.
This might seem like an unusual analogy, but listen to glen Campbell's version of "gentle on my mind".
Then listen to elvis's interpretation.
Night and day right???
Glen's genius is in his guitar playing.
His vocal seems pedestrian to my ear.
With elvis, you feel the cold biting rain on those train tracks as your sippin hot soup from that tin cup.
Beth's soul comes through to me in her interpretations.
She's a special unique talent.

Thanks for posting this.
I had seen the kennedy center honors version of this .
But this one is better!
My god!
Someone didn't care for her vibrato???
I feel it adds to her authenticity!
I get lost in her soul.
This song with jeff beck is epic.
Thanks again.

Sorry, it was 2016, not 2017. My memory for dates is fading fast.
