Re: The new sanctuary cities...
Liberals care nothing about deficits either. With spending out of control, all of the major liberal candidates want to massively increase spending.
Yes Trump and the GOP failed to deliver real spending cuts. Shame on them.
But massively increasing spending is idiotic, then again most things liberal and/or Dems are.

Ds actually admit they don't care about deficits. GOPtards, on the other hand, say one thing and do another, all the while their cultist sheep just fall in line.
Hypocrisy used to be a shameful thing in the US. Not anymore.

Yes, we should instead elect the hypocrites who say one thing but do another.

No, we should be electing a President and Congressfolk who will pledge to reduce spending immediately. Outside of that, massive spending increases, of which the Dems are proposing, make them unelectable.Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 2:35 pm

Putting on your jack boots early I see. If you think people should be arrested for driving 80 in a 55, what should the penalty be for say drunk driving ?Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 8:25 pmYou should have been arrested for driving this fast.

What fascinates you about Vietnam?
Was it the rice eaters forcing young men to play Russian Roulette? The sheer number of casualties? The torture?
Why ask anyone to recount that nightmare? Are you a sadist?
Or do you hope to make us go berserk so you can have us committed?
This board has become so dark and macabre the last few years.

Re: The new sanctuary cities...
You get arrested for driving 25 over in Virginia, that last bastion of southern conservatism. Driving 25 over is no accident, it is willful disregard for laws that put others' lives at risk. This is why over 40,000 people die at the hands of drivers each year and countless others have their lives destroyed. All because you want to drive as fast as possible and as cheap as possible with as little responsibility for the safe operation of your motor vehicle as possible.Derron wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 5:04 pm Putting on your jack boots early I see. Look I of all people agree with most of this. You (Driver) want to be an idiot, fine, but you have to pay the price.Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 7:29 pm Driving 25 over is no accident, it is willful disregard for laws that put others' lives at risk. But you couldn't keep global warming and your hatred of fossil fuels out of this could you? Of course most people want to drive for as cheaply as possible. That doesn't help your overall argument.

Re: The new sanctuary cities...
Friend--when I say "as cheaply as possible" I am mostly referring to driver entitlement to free or extremely subsidized parking and reduced regulations such as no emission certification requirements and no tolls. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, though. Next time I promise to express myself more clearly.Left Seater wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 8:08 pm Look I of all people agree with most of this. Re: The new sanctuary cities...
What do you think about per-mile tolling for roads? WA is proposing this because, surprise, EVs don't buy gas and thus the gas tax is declining as part of contributions towards roads. I think at this point it's a bad idea because I don't like the idea of the goverment tracking a driver's every move as part of tolling for roads, but (pols) have to figure out a better way to fund transportation efforts beyond a pitiful gas tax.

Re: The new sanctuary cities...
I would need more info.
I don’t have issues with traditional toll roads but the tolls should go away when the bonds issued to build the roads have been paid in full and a maintenance fund has been established. The maintenance fund should be large enough that the interest can support on going maintenance.
Agree that the gas tax is becoming outdated and needs a replacement.

I’ll be taking your advise on how to deal with socialized roads, never.

Who gives a shit about speed limits? Drive however fast you desire and hopefully you'll t-bone a concrete median and burst into flames one day. The nation would be so lucky.
Re: The new sanctuary cities...
Driving 105 is not that dangerous. What makes it dangerous on our roads is all the tards.
It’s an old argument, but I have driven the Autobahn at 105 no problems.

Re: The new sanctuary cities...
Driving 105 is pretty damn dangerous. Your average slappy American driver does not maintain a car well enough nor operate a vehicle properly to safely drive consistently at 105. It also wastes a ton of fuel. Outside of Arizona and Montana and the Imperial Desert, it is entirely unnecessary for US drivers to drive more than 70 mph.

Re: The new sanctuary cities...
Screwy, why call out the poor? They are the ones far more likely to not properly maintain their vehicle. Tires going bald, oh well, next month.
I mean you are probably correct but this is unlike you to single them out. Are you feeling ok?
