Stories behind Great Songs....
The Edge came up with this riff for a song....but he didn't have any lyrics for it...
so The Edge said to Bono..."Just sing what comes to your mind and make it up as it goes."
They did one take on a riff with no lyrics and came up with this song.
For EAP....."ELVIS PRESLEY IN AMERICA!"

Bono, like all great artists, had a huge respect for the king. The Big Pickle wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 8:09 pm

Most of the Stories behind Great Songs would begin with "I dropped acid, and then..."
Right?
Right?

Doug Fieger had a girlfriend, but he walked into a clothing store and saw this vision named "sharona". And he had an instant "hard on".
As for "mony mony".
It was a billboard sign for New York life insurance that caught their eye supposedly.
And stairway to heaven came to Robert plant in the deep satanic forest one starless night that Lucifer paid him and page a visit.
