Roosevelt CO shit-canning.
As many of you dickheads may know, I am a retired sailor, 6 years on a carrier, 16 as a reservist slug.
My first reaction when I heard that the "Big Stick's" boss was sacked was, wow, that seems kinda harsh.
After reading a little more about it, I have come to the conclusion that the right thing was done.
After realizing that he had a #19 outbreak, he reported it up the chain. Apparently a day or two later, he decided to send a letter via unsecure comms to multiple people.
That's not how it works in the military.
This is information about the readiness of a military asset.
Our military sorta frowns on that sorta thing.
The chain of command was aware of the problem and was taking measures to address it. I am sure the CO was frustrated with the speediness of the response and apparently felt it necessary to light a fire under someone's ass. I am equally sure that he knew he was ending his career.
Maybe he figured fukkit, an 0-6, 28 year pension is a pretty decent one, I'll be OK. So, he said fukkit, being an Admiral is over-rated anyway and he flushed himself, hoping it would speed response to help his crew.
If this is the case, I applaud him, as a person, but he still made a mistake.
The military has very strict rules when it comes to shit like this. It has to. If military officers conducted themselves like politicians, we'd all be speaking German, or Russian, or Mandarin or who the fukk knows what.

Of course that stupid POS moron mother fukkker needed to be shitcanned!
First of all, he allowed his ship to go ashore in Vietnam during a pandemic....all it took was for
ONE stupid sailor faggot to picked up COVID19 to infect the entire ship.
On top of that, he had complete DISREGARD for the chain of command...he violated
the NUMBER ONE rule in the military...CHAIN OF COMMAND....
His stupidity put the entire National Security at risk...our enemies now
know we have an aircraft carrier out of operation.
FUKKK
THAT
FAGGOT

Funny how only Trump Kneepadders are the ones calling Modly's move the right decision. Everyone else disagrees.
Those of us with functioning brains will believe the captain who sacrificed his career for the good of his men instead of some spineless acting Trump navy secretary who's only in his position because the previous navy secretary didn't want to pardon a war criminal like Eddie Gallagher.
But that's who Trump respects: Men who kill little girls before going on Fox to trash Navy leadership. Those guys get promoted. Not guys like Crowley.

YOU DON'T ALLOW YOUR CREW TO RUN AROUND IN VIETNAM DURING A PANDEMIC
AND THEN BRING THE VIRUS BACK ON THE SHIP TO INFECT EVERYONE!
I'M NOT SURPRISED A DRESS WEARING FLAG BURNING FAGGOT IS TOO STUPID TO
UNDERSTAND THAT SIMPLE CONCEPT!

Re: Roosevelt CO shit-canning.
Wasn’t aware he allowed his crew to run amok in Vietnam while CV was a thing.
That being said, he doesn’t pull into anywhere without the Airwing Admiral and CINCPACFLT knowing.
That decision is on them.
If it turns out that they got it from an ill-advised port call, then CINCPAC better be packing his sea bag as well.

Nice try but no:
March 4, 2020
The USS Theodore Roosevelt arrived Thursday in Vietnam, becoming only the second U.S. aircraft carrier to make a port call there since the fall of Saigon in 1975.
The carrier, accompanied by the guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill, steamed into Danang, where they were met by Vietnamese and U.S. government and military officials, according to a 7th Fleet news release. Waiting to greet the vessels were Adm. John C. Aquilino, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, and U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink.
The port call by the Roosevelt and its strike group, a total of 6,500 military personnel, marks 25 years since the two former foes normalized their diplomatic relations.
Adm. Phil Davidson, commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, announced Tuesday that the Roosevelt would stop in Vietnam.

Yeah...they docked in Da Nang in March and the POS Captain give Shore Leave during a PANDEMIC!
A week later hundreds of crew came down with Covid19....
You don't give Shore Leave in Vietnam during a Pandemic when you all live on a ship!

Re: Roosevelt CO shit-canning.
BP is saying the meeting could have been accomplished without shore leave, given the Diamond Princess situation.
Is this true?
Just feels like enlisted were used as guinea pigs by higher ups for their own intel, to an outsider looking in. Is it normal to grant shore leave? Or was it one of the military personnel meeting the ship who spread it?

Roosevelt CO shit-canning.
So CINCPACFLT was there on the pier to greet them?
Yeah, he may as well pack his shit too. He’s done.
By March 4th we already knew this could turn bad. They should have went down to Australia instead.

"So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!"

Your boy Obama respects Islamic perverts who rape and kill little girls. He lets them out of prison in exchange for faggot Bowe Bergdahl.
The Taliban five rapes and kills little girls. More so now, thanks to the community street pimp from Chicago.
I love how your low IQ posts, ultimately end up back in your face!!!! Don't you?

He was not "speaking truth to power" or "looking out the good of his men." He leaked to the entire fucking world a report on the operational readiness of one of the most critical, forward deployed military assets in the United States Armed Forces.
He is clearly stupid and totally unfit for command. Quite frankly, the Navy needs to spin up a chapter 34 and court martial the asshat. That his equally stupid crew would cheer this dope is indicative an extremely serious problem within the Navy. These stupid faggots can't dodge container ships with the most nimble vessels in the fleet and now they can't manage sick call on a flat top without broadcasting it to the world.
Pathetic and embarrassing.

^^^That, and this voyage can't be the first ever outbreak of sickness on an aircraft carrier.
Every year, at least one commercial cruise ship has a round of crud or food poisoning.
If there's not a specific protocol then the entire Navy medical leadership needs to get fired.

It’s what could happen.
It’s about discipline and following rules.
You’ve never served a day in the military, so you are clueless, but these rules are in place for a reason.
This isn’t over yet.
A port call in SE Asia while this thing was going on in the neighborhood wasn’t the smartest idea. And while the CO has the authority to cancel a port call with liberty, he does not have the authority to make the visit without permission from above.
CINCPACFLT will prolly be filing for his Coronabucks by next week.

As for what could happen?
China could decide that it was time to step in their wayward little bros in Taiwan.
Not having a carrier there would factor into such a decision.
And if you STILL think the Chinese are all nice little cuddly Panda bears, you have just invented a new level of retarded.

B) Never going to happen during a pandemic with the America right there and the RR in Japan.
C) Get over yourself, Relax, Think about humans for once and not just some dumb rules in a book written by hyper masculine asshats.

As long as you have Communist governments with zero accountability, then yes, we are in the moral and ethical position to be sheriff.
Same goes with extremist Islamic governments that publicly promise to destroy Israel AND western civilization.
It's ethical and moral for us to be sheriff.
If you don't understand that reality? You're a seriously delusional and fucked up individual.

Re: Roosevelt CO shit-canning.
Modly could have handled that better.
The whole thing could have been handled better.
Retired Gen Keane had a pretty good take on it.
He pointed out that chain of command works both ways. The sacking of Crozier should have been handled by his immediate superiors.
But then, they were the ones that allowed this mess to get rolling by authorizing an ill-timed port call.
