Cointreau 1/2 Oz
squirt of roses lime juice
1 oz cranberry


Shake over ice...strain into chilled martini glass

Don't use Triple sec...it's poor mans crap!

also....you can use Citron vodka for lemon favor

You can use any juice instead of cranberry...like pineapple or grapefruit

I understand why a fresh lime is better.

Rose is alright by me, though. Bought a bottle of grenadine syrup from the local family owned grocer out here, Rotman's, last year. I was desperate to recreate the taste of the local hotel's Shirley Temples, because I couldn't get over there with my schedule and they don't deliver. Grenadine tastes like red pop (ie Big Red) when too much is used. It was a nice nostalgia hit while experimenting.

(It's too bad the best part of pomegranates isn't easily removed from itself.)

I've only been inside a package store once in my life: 4th of July, needed ice. Seemed best bet for a quick in and out, without wasting time figuring out no more ice, no coolers, long lines if there were. Felt very commie block, inside. Felt like a gun store, too. It was too in/out.

Ok, whatever, how do I get permit? By visiting the police department website.

Ok, whatever. Read through a bunch of shit. $50 bucks and a background check? Ok, whatever. This shit better be good.

Call the store to confirm it's okay to pre-fill out the permit application, and if I needed to make an appointment to visit since there was a two customer maximum.

The lady says no customers at all are allowed inside now, due to covid19; and asks if it's a renewal, I tell her no, a new permit. She tells me they are only accepting renewals, and won't be accepting new applications until the shelter in place is lifted.

(The shelter in place has been extended twice. April 30, now. Whatever.)

So I won't be trying it at home after all :(

Grand Marnier has a more complex flavor in my honest opinion, orange, vanilla and a hint of oak. And, it's made with cognac.
But again, it comes down to what you prefer.
