Really? It sure seems people are returning to public life in droves. Most are wearing a mask and social distancing, but they are returning to public life where offered. So explain how testing is going to get our economy going.

It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, which are the safest and most effective medicines needed in a health system. And, in 2017, it was the 128th most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than five million prescriptions. Check Wikipedia or other sources if you disagree.

Second, while there may not be conclusive clinical proof that hydroxychloroquine is an effective prophylaxis for COVID-19, there is a lot of anecdotal reporting of effectiveness and such a low risk associated with its use that anyone with a functioning brain would take if if placed in an environment where the risk of COVID-19 infection is high and a doctor prescribed it. And it is being prescribed around the world in such circumstances, including by tens of thousands of licensed physicians in the United States. If I was at risk, and my physician recommended that I should take it, I would take it. And you would too, except for the fact that Trump mentioned it as a potential treatment for the COVID-19 pandemic, and now it is verboten. And that is sad.

If the president said he was taking hot beef injections for a few weeks to help prevent Covid 19, you'd be first in line...and on your knees.
