UPDATE: 10:00P.M. IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) — An Acadiana family is asking for justice after their teenage son was found dead in a sugar cane field.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office says they found a juvenile in a rural area Monday off Ed. Broussard Road. Quawan “Bobby” Charles first was reported missing to the Baldwin Police Department last Friday....
She says a so-called friend and his mother picked up the young teen without permission from either parent, “You cannot just take somebody’s son, bring them to your house, and not be accountable for them because he was in her custody.”
The family saw Quawan’s body at the coroner’s office with a large knot on his head. They believe someone hit him and hid his body. They were told the death is being investigated as a homicide.
On the evening of October 30th, Quawan Charles was picked up from his father’s house by a white male and his mother. His body was found November 2nd. The parish of St. Mary refuses to release the findings of the autopsy. In response, the family is attempting to raise funds needed to conduct a second autopsy before his funeral. An individual autopsy needs to be conducted before November 12th to ensure that all findings by the medical examiner can come back conclusive. The family asks that you give what you can during this difficult time.
The cops fucked up, yes. But the primary suspects (persons of interest) are the white mother and son, as well as the third white kid who narced on mother and son. Is there a reason we're not hearing from them, or a police comment on them?
How long does an autopsy take, and is it usual not to release information to a family?
How far was the sugarcane field from the alleged football game?

What would cause those injuries to a child?
Police aren't going to release too much information before they have suspects in custody. At this point I'm betting there's evidence that only the killer(s) would know, and tipping them off with information would interfere with the investigation.

Unfortunately, his skin color and an openly racist president.
Biden had something to say this summer. Do they have anything to say now? Will there be televised declarations that black lives still matter, as they attend this child's funeral?
Apparently the police told the white family to stay put. They took that as 'flee while you can', rented a U-Haul and left town.
At this point, should they not be named publically?

I’d rather be named Publically than Quawan.

The but but but Trump is already beginning. But but but Hillary or Obama wasn’t an acceptable answer in Dems eyes if someone brought up something they did, but now it is an acceptable answer why?
If you are going to use that now and claim it is acceptable then what has changed other than the letter behind the person’s name?

Hey, look! T1B's third fascist white supremacist anti-democratic asshat chimes in. Funny how you and Suckaholic and Pedokkkal have those in common: You hate democracy when liberals are in charge.
What you are is a traitor. And you know it.

Black people have a different heritage than Europeans.
So fukking what?
Such names aren't their "heritage".
100 years ago blacks weren't naming their children Quadraphonic. They were much more likely to be named Bill.
The ironic thing is that about the time whites started to improve relations with blacks in the 60-70s is when some blacks started to reject use of their "slave names" and started using these odd names.

Thank the Lord we still got good practical white racists around to tell black folk what to do. Especially when it’s none of their Got. Damn. Business.

it is now possible to examine large samples of names and outcomes going back over a century to test whether
black names are truly a modern phenomenon or whether they have much older historical roots. Cook et al.
(2014) have used historical federal census records and death certificates from Illinois, Alabama and North
Carolina to identify a set of names commonly held among black males and disproportionately held by black
males relative to white males. These records reveal that distinctively black names existed long before the
Civil Rights movement. In fact, the fraction of black males holding a distinctively black name in the early 20th
century is comparable to the fraction holding a distinctively black name at the end of the century.

We now see some distinctively blacks names like Rasheed, Tremayne, Quawan, and Hakim.
100 years ago they saw some distinctively black names like Alonzo, Percy, Booker, and Isaiah.
I am sure there were names more frequently used. Did a quick search on Alonzo and came up with a bunch of 19th century white dudes as well as others. My sense is that it eventually became popular in the balck community which could have caused it to become less popular among whites. Tyrone is another good example of this. 40 years ago it was the typical generic balck name. 100 years ago, not so much. Percy was a very common anglo name before becoming popular with blacks. Booker was a fairly common anglo name and obviously became popular among blacks naming their children after one of the greatest American inventors of all time, Booker T. Washington. Isaiah is a biblical name. Not sure why it became popular among blacks, but it was also commonly used by whites.
So, each example given was a common name among Americans in general. It wasn't a "black name".

Ohhhhh, stop it!!!!
Why are you trying to cover up what is obvious "systemic racism"?

Unique, strange or whatever term you want to apply to some names isn’t a race thing. Look no further than the suburbs where mom is giving her newborn white daughter the name Tayelour.
I understand that parents want their kids to be unique, but their are plenty of ways to foster that besides the name.

You are right. Stupid naming isn't reserved to the melanin gifted.
I don't get parents who look at the "current cool names" book, when deciding to name their children. Throughout history, we typically named children after relatives or friends we wanted to honor. My daughter is named after my wife's grandmother. My son after my Uncle who died in Vietnam.
I pity the kids out there who went through school assuming they were being called on every time they heard their name because there were 5 Amandas in her class.
BTW, that is my niece's name. My sister fell for that trend in 1990. Want an even better example? My wife's nephew's kids, Jacob, Hannah and Noah.
