A lot of the usual bellyaching over PAC12 officiating, some of it maybe justified, but it goes both ways.
And if you're that good, just fucking deal with it.

Maybe they aren’t as good as they thought. That said I thought a few calls were interesting, but they happened both ways.

A lot complaints about the final PI as time ran out. None of the replays shows the receiver being significantly held up a second or two before the ball got there. I don’t know the finer points between PI and defensive holding but if you see the entire play it’s obvious that one or other should apply.

Even the announcer got it wrong IMO. In the more extended replays, there was a similar pass broken up two plays previous on second down. A lot of contact but no call. You could see, though, that the defender at least had his head turned and was tracking the ball. On the last one he was just holding up the receiver. The announcer only remarked that there was no call on the earlier play even with significant contact. Guess he couldn’t see the difference.

We ask officials to put DPI and holding calls into a category. Grab & restrict, hook and turn, cutoff, take down, arm bar etc. If you can’t assign a category then you likely don’t have a foul.

Announcers like to discuss the defender’s head and has he turned to find the ball. That actually has very little to do with it being a foul or not. Same with contact. A defender can have continuous contact with a WR but not have a foul.

Bottom line most announcers do not know the rules.
