A toned-down Howard Dean juiced up about 300 Democratic activists yesterday during his first party fund-raiser in Boston since taking over the Democratic National Committee helm.
The party expected to raise between $250,000 to $300,000 during last night's event, which offered donors summer fare with their dose of politics - hot dogs, popcorn and a bit of Dean's Vermont political roots - Ben & Jerry's ``Peace Pops.''
Summer fare? Try cheap ass fare. How pissed would you be if you paid $2000 or more for a dinner with Howard Dean and got fed a hotdog and popcorn. At least give people the choice of dry chicken breast or shoe leather steak. A tubesteak and popcorn?!

If you divide 300 people by the 250k estimate, it comes to 833.33 per person. Of course, the diner might have been a tiered affair, where some donors pay more for "special" features like a private meet and greet. So who knows what the average ticket price might have been.
