Reportedly, the Loaf’s old man started calling him Meat at a “tender” young age because he was very red when he was born. Pops said he looked like 9 & a half lbs of ground chuck. Surprised he wasn’t named Charles instead of Marvin.

It does not say if he was vaxxed. I suspect he probably was vaxxed, as am I.

There was an article years ago where he was one of many big time musicians at an event. Maybe the Grammys? Anyway, he supposedly blew everyone away, and was by far the best there, standing ovation etc. Wish I could have seen him play live.

I got to see him play. It was 1990, he was nowhere to be seen on the charts. And was playing any gig that paid. Which meant if a fraternity at an Upstate NY SUNY school was willing to pay his rate, he would play their blowout spring kegger.

I paid 10 bucks to drink as much macro swill as possible, smoke weed and see Meatloaf. Was the show great? Not really but, I have to give him credit for showing up and trying. But man, what a party. I was so strung out from beer and weed I spent the rest of the night in my dorm room watching a bunch of Gary Cooper movies.

So stoned from radio station employee weed that I left right after the last song and spent the rest of the day and night watching a PBS Gary Cooper marathon. It was the only Saturday night of the year I didn’t go out drinking with the guys on my floor. So year, no sorority chicks.
