With the possible exception of a tiger taming act gone horribly wrong, being a stand up comedian is surely the toughest and most taxing gig in all of show business.
GG was awesome and had the most unique voice. I found it hilarious.

Saw him headline a live stand-up gig at Magooby's Joke House outside B'more a few yeas ago. Sat front row, directly in front of the stage, & dude was . Met him briefly after the show. Seemed like a swell guy.

Some comics who had been around Gilbert said he was totally different in real life than what we saw of him as a performer.
Said he was quiet, gentle, and even a bit shy.
