What an Embarrassment

Herschel Walker has no business representing the state of Georgia in the US Senate. He is an ill-educated goofball. Would Mr. Walker being elected be any worse than Raphael Warnock? It's a damn shame we've come to a point where things are so polarized that we vote complete idiots into office (Tommy Tuberville in Alabama) in order to avoid giving one party an advantage. We have a vice president who would struggle with the duties of a high school secretary. We've had two presidents consecutively who are dumb as bricks.
We're now on the verge of a major war with Russia and we have "leaders" who likely don't even know where Russia is.
We've been fucked by dumbasses. We are all dumbasses.

Re: What an Embarrassment
Herschel Walker is just a different flavor of stupid GOP politicians. He's horribly stupid, but is he any worse than the self-employed model from Colorado who is fine with her husband exposing himself to high school girls? Or the moron from GA who was somehow included in the 2020 Trump WH meeting on The Big Lie with several other members of Congress in spite of not even having been sworn in yet (this should raise big flags as to why she was included).Arthur Dent wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 1:30 pm https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022 ... You're blaming Biden for us being on the verge of war with Russia? Was it FDR's fault that we were on the edge of war 1939-1941? Perhaps if we had elected the email lady instead of Putin's useful idiot we wouldn't be in the situation we're in today (we wouldn't).

You can pedal your “both side are bad” BS all you want but you are living in the past. TODAY one side is bad one side is evil. It’s called a false dichotomy.Arthur Dent wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 1:30 pm https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022 ... Y_Magazine

No, I'm not blaming Biden at all. I'm just concerned that, if we do go to war, we are in a shitload of trouble with these bozos in charge.Diego in Seattle wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 2:55 pm You're blaming Biden for us being on the verge of war with Russia? I think we'd be on the verge of war with Russia regardless of who was elected in '20. Putin has to feel threatened. Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania in NATO? Finland and Sweden being considered for membership in NATO? Ukraine getting closer and closer to the US?
You have to consider Putin's viewpoint. He's old school in that he wants to return Russia to a position as a world power. The breakup of the USSR likely dominates his thinking. And he blames the US (and the West in general). He now has NATO knocking at his western borders. He's a power junkie and he intends to assert Russian power before he leaves office. I see a nuclear conflict as being inevitable. No way he allows Russia to look weak much longer in Ukraine. If things don't turn soon, he'll unleash the nukes there. Maybe try to take the Baltic nations back.

Re: What an Embarrassment
Oh, I do consider Putin's viewpoint. His view is that it's acceptable for him to invade sovereign countries but it's not acceptable for other countries to allign themselves defensively against his moves. His viewpoint is also that he wishes that he had the power that Brezhnev & Andropov had. So he wants to get the band back together again, regardless of whether the old bandmates want to rejoin. And finally, his viewpoint is being shaped by the limited time he has left on this earth, both mentally & physically. With Parkinson's ravaging his body, he's trying his best to leave his own mark on his country as well as world history before his body pops smoke. And it's for that reason that his use of WMD's (especially after his military's continued engagement in war crimes in Ukraine) is of legitimate concern.Arthur Dent wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 3:04 pmNo, I'm not blaming Biden at all. The bright spot is that:
A) Biden has plenty of good military advisors. And with this POTUS, we don't have to worry about Biden thinking he knows more about military matters than his military staff (unlike the Orange Moron).
B) Russia has proven in Ukraine that its military is a mess. As long as the weapons remain conventional, I doubt that we'd have much of a problem with telling Putin's army to go fuck itself.

Re: What an Embarrassment
One of the only things the Orange Moron did right was not listen to the generals and sign a peace treaty with the Afghans.
Re: What an Embarrassment
A peace treaty with the Afghans? Which Afghans? The thoroughly corrupt government? The Taliban? What is it pretending to say?
When it comes to corruption, Ukraine is the Nigeria of Europe. And Biden and his crackhead son have had their muzzles pushed deep into the trough for many years. The 2014 CIA backed coup of the duly elected (though Russian friendly) government has led directly to the current invasion.
As for Herschel Walker, he's an excellent role model for the black communities in Georgia--who have for many decades been dutifully herded like sheep by the depraved and decadent DNC. He's no Larry Elder but neither is he a hack or a lackey. And if we compare him to the diabetic hippo Stacy Abrams, he comes across like a Lincoln. And we all respect and admire Abe Lincoln.

Re: What an Embarrassment
Our reps have failed us for a very long time, so I think it's time to fill those spots with ex-NFL playahs.
What's the harm?
Bill Romanowsk can represent Connecticut
Antonio Brown, Florida.
Richard Sherman, Cal.

Re: What an Embarrassment
Is he?
He lied about being an FBI agent.
He lied about his college academic prowess.
He has fathered multiple children by multiple women.
While involved in a serious domestic dispute with his then wife, he threatened to "have a shoot-out" with the p0lice.
And he is alleged to have violent tendencies.
Herschel is a dummy.
He is also wound too tight.
I guess he's perfect for Georgians.

Before he runs for President he should be required to prove that he can spell it.
