Weekend Roll Call 10-1-22
With R&R dying a little every day, if gets harder and harder to
find good new stuff, and especially from younger folks, so its
always refreshening when I find it. Old school Van Halen vibe.
While the news was full this week with talk about Americas
dick getting it's annual blow job and the subsequent flooding,
FOC is in the midst of a fairly significant drought. We just
ended one of our driest September's on record. But, looking
at the bright side, we are having some hella nice and comfy
weather. Today looks to be fantastic 76/47. I am regretting
declining the opportunity to judge in this weekends bbq.
The American Royal Maybe I will take the time next year.
Gym, honeydo's, grill biz and a Saturday night toddy.
MIZZOU plays Georgia tonight. I will likely avoid that
curb stomping. I am still bitter about last week's
kick in the nuts from Auburn. Chiefs play at Tampa
tomorrow night. I never like any teams chances when
playing against the goat. But I will at least tune in and
watch the first qtr. of that one before sacking out.
I guess I should have asked first ..... is it ok to talk about
football here? Or is it frowned upon by anti-cancel culture,
maga type loons, that seemingly want to cancel shit as well,
just like the .net folks were?
Speaking of .net ... we are 15 days in now to the "Account Suspended"
era. I am a little surprised that we have not from heard Russ at this point,
but it is leading me to believe more and more everyday that he has simply
checked out. Only time will tell ... or maybe not actually. It would be
nice however, if a few more of the trolls found a bread crumb trail over
here.
Couple of memes ... then I'm outta here ....
Happy weekend, Y'all.

Hanging out at Pinewoods Lake MO (hiking biking bbq, the usual campground activities) and getting ready to waste any right wing fools that look to this thread for a safe space.

The weather is shitty from Ian remnants in DC today, so no tennis. Going to watch a soccer match tonight, hopefully the weather will improve slightly. Also attending the GW bball fan day for an hour.

I have taken to calling it footie, that way everyone knows I’m not talking about American or Aussie football and I don’t have to say soccer.

Happy weekend all and nice to see this thread showing up.

Thanks for this, will play it tonight in TuneTown. Agree with you that R&R gets closer to being toe-tagged with each passing day and finding good new material isn't easy. There's also tons of older material that seldom reaches listeners' ears, which is one of the prime missions of TT. You and the other .netters should give it a try. I'm guessing you'd be pleasantly surprised. Showtime is 8 Eastern/5 Pacific & typically runs for 5+ hrs. Archived shows airing now.

First two bands I looked up from this site seem pretty good.

Heading down to Balboa Park with Mrs Mikey to meet our daughter, who lives downtown. After a walk in the park we’ll head to a cool French bistro for late lunch/early dinner.

The Padres can clinch a playoff spot with a win today over the ChiSox, or a Brewers loss, for the first time since 2006 and only the sixth time ever (2020 doesn’t count). I’d probably be watching the day game at home but…family comes first.

Amazing. I had all but written off the Padres once Tatis was suspended. I thought they had a major collapse this summer? Props to the Fathers for hanging on.
Re: Weekend Roll Call 10-1-22
Yeah I thought that with Tatis returning, and adding Soto, Bell, Hader and Drury, they would have a chance to go deep into the postseason. The new players have not performed up to expectations. The starting pitching has been brilliant for some stretches and atrocious for others. The bullpen has been mostly great. Somehow they have managed to put together a decent record in spite of sucking against not only the best team in the division but also against the worst.Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 6:08 pmAmazing. Nice to see them make the postseason but they will never get past the Dodgers It’s a physical, psychological and spiritual impossibility.
My greatest Padre highlights -
Went to one game in the ‘98 WS and was in Cooperstown for Tony Gwynn’s induction in 2007. Those were memorable, but the highlights are pretty few and far between.

Yes now that the Raiders are off the snide we can talk about football.
