Weekend Roll Call 10-15-22
Im not normally much of a fan of 1 man bands,
but this guy seems to have a knack for it.
We had a great time at the lake last weekend. I never
got around to making a full blown pet but here are a few pics...
The view from lookout above Bagnell Dam.
One of the first things we did, was take a heli tour.
First time I have been in once since leaving the Army.
These things are basically flying lawn mowers, but
they get the job done.
I didn't shoot vid, but lots of others do.
A couple of pics I did snap though ...
The pic above of the mansion is typical of another 1000
or so multi million dollar places that have been built
in the last 20 years. It's mind blowing. It reminds me
of Miami Beach.
Just as there is no shortage of palaces at the lake, there is
no shortage of good grub .... Breakfast after the Friday night bender.
Dinner from a local BBQ Joint ...
Not the best I ever had, but decent. The main reason for
going there however, was the name caught my eye ...
Yes indeed, the owner is a clone. He named it after the
classic "wobbly boot," line from Elk that he heard back in
the day.
Lots of other places with quirky names to be found at the lake also.
BIg DIcks Halfway Inn - no pic
Marty Byrd's - no pic for us Ozark fans
The Blue Cat- also for us Ozark fans...
and my personal fave ....
The last pic is just a random pic I snapped from the
southern end of the lake. Less developed, much quieter and
peaceful. Fall is just starting to settle in here in FOC we are
considering making this lake trip an annual visit.
I have not received any official word ..... but after 4 weeks now,
I am going to officially drop a tombstone on .net. From all appearances,
Russ hasn't done a damn thing to correct whatever the problem is,
but he didn't really seem to do a damn thing for the last few years,
so I guess this should not really be any surprise.
All totaled, a few of us may have migrated here but it looks like the rest
are lost at internet sea. No loss really. Those left behind were trumptard
fucksticks. Good punching bags for sure, but utterly worthless otherwise.
I thought our boy d-town was onboard here, but after getting whacked in
the head a couple of times with boat oars from a couple of folks here,
he seems to have lost his grip and washed away in the waves.
WHERE YA AT d-town???
MIZZOU has a Saturday off so they are safe from losing another one today.
I may try and catch another game this evening, but the evening weather
looks like it may be a perfect night hang around the firepit.
Tomorrow I will be glued to the tv watching Chiefs/Bills in a likely
AFC title game preview. I have so much I could say about the horrible
state of the NFL and the ridiculous rules they have enacted for QB's but I
just don't have the time nor the energy to waste the key strokes.
Gym, grill biz and an eye doc appt for new peepers on the docket for today ...
Happy Weekend, Y'all.

Great post, dave!
Very nice pics, and I'm sure you had a swell time.
:)
Btw, hopefully d-town will slink back -----> IN <----- here.
I find him entertaining.

I posted a pretty lengthy take on the situation in the NFL Forum (Joe Burrow thread).dave wrote:I have so much I could say about the horrible

I have my doubts that they will. Who would want to show up here having to defend the party of self-employed model Lauren BoBo, Marjorie Three Toes, and Junior Sprecial Super Agent Herschel Walker?Jsc810 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 4:57 pmI found Russ at stucknut and messaged him, but he did not respond.
Still, I was glad to see that he is alive and online, even if net's issue still remains. Can't help but wonder what happened there.
The q-culters surely realize by now that it is all downhill for their hero from this point forward, so it is no surprise that they are not as vocal about supporting a tax/bank fraud who stole national secrets. But in any event, I hope they do find their way here.

Hanging by the pool @ the Westin in Beaver Creek CO. Activities include, walk by the Eagle river and roasting s’mores by the propane fire. Hank Hill would be proud.
Stock photos for effect.
As for the .pedos- this isn’t a safe space so they might drop in from time to time to post one of their fallacies (they seem to love Whataboutism most) but they can’t defend anything they believe so they will all get run… again.

Pretty much watching the Major League playoffs this weekend. Four games on today, but obviously I'm most interested in the last one tonight. I've seen some of the Phillies / Braves series and Houston / Seattle but none of the Yankme games.
Phillies look like they're going to clinch today (7-2 right now). If they do, and the Padres can close out the Dodgers tonight then the two lowest Wild Card teams would be playing in the NL Championship. Three 100 win teams will have bitten the dust in the NL. Neither the Phillies nor the Padres have had a LCS game at home for at least 10 years. If the Padres beat their "big brothers" tonight behind hometown pitcher Joe Musgrove Petco will go absolutely bonkers.

Re: Weekend Roll Call 10-15-22
Kills me to say it but I think they will. Seems to me the bye takes away whatever momentum or consistency a team may have entered the postseason with, while the continuity of playing the wild card series builds up the confidence of the teams that win them. Dodgers just aren't looking good while the Madres have hit the stride they've been looking for since making the big trades. Musgrove will be hard to hit tonight.

Re: Weekend Roll Call 10-15-22
The Dodgers do seem very flat. The Padres are playing their best baseball of the season IMO, though still not getting many timely hits. The pitching staff, both starters and the pen, is really stepping up. With Hader really on his game it gives them three relievers for the 7th 8th and 9th that can all bring it at 100 MPH+ with different deliveries. That’s nasty.

It never gets old to say Fuck L.A.
As for Herschel Walker, even a syphilitic sewer rat would be a major upgrade from whatever the DNC is trotting out in Georgia.

I could have sworn that you said you were in the Air Force? Not something to be confused. What was your MOS and unit?

35K Avionics... I don't believe it's still an active MOS at this time. I was stationed in Manheim and Heidelberg. 70th Trans. Now defunct as well.

We actually had quite a few fixed (U-21's and C-12's) as well but the phased out
the U-21 in my 2nd year if memory serves and the C-12 was still under civilian
contract repair. We supported NATO, and the CINC and spent most of our time
shuffling brass around.
