Ebola Doom
Things are not going well when Uganda has to impose lockdown on 2 districts to stop #Ebola.
The @CDCgov also activated its emergency network last week. We should maybe consider fever
and virus testing at airports.

Shet hitting the fan?
Communications to Shetland have been severely disrupted after a subsea cable was damaged. Police have
declared a major incident after the south subsea cable between the islands and the mainland was cut.
The force said phones, internet and computers were not usable and that officers were patrolling to try to
reassure residents. Repairs to another cable connecting Shetland and Faroe are ongoing after it was damaged
last week...

Categorical bullshit. And no surprise coming from Slop Fart's footlocker of hackneyed nonsense. While the DNC is indeed paralyzed with confusion and fear of being shitcanned in two weeks, and indeed is prepared to do something really desperate, the idea of U.S. military engaging Russian military is a non-starter. As Gibberin' Joe's hooknosed handlers know full well, he's disposable--and their hooks can be applied to whoever's next. WWIII will have to wait.

Everything about this "news" is absurd. The idea that 5000 elite U.S. troops would be flown into Romania is itself ridiculous. What, do you suppose the U.S. has a base there? Who's feeding them? What happens when they get "blue balls"? Are comfort hookers also being flown in? And who exactly are they going to fight? And with what? Do they also have tanks and trucks being flown in? And as for the clown presenting this "news," he looks like he's broadcasting from his mom's basement--literally. :P
And ...it turns out to be sorta, kinda true.
The U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division has been deployed to Europe for the first time in almost 80 years amid soaring tension between Russia and the American-led NATO military alliance. The light infantry unit, nicknamed the "Screaming Eagles," is trained to deploy on any battlefield in the world within hours, ready to fight.
Would Gibberin' Joe's handlers really do something that desperate?

Well, there's saber rattling, and there's neocon insanity, and it's not a good sign when we can't tell the difference.
Suffice to say, the DNC and all its neocon operators are plenty worried about the very real prospect of a midterm blowout, and in an era of nation-wide lockdowns and weaponized DOJ and FBI, who would doubt their treachery in playing footsie with WWIII?

It is the location of their "practice" that is of interest.
From the CBS Sacramento link...
Matthaidess told CBS News that he and his troops were the closest American forces to the fighting in
Ukraine. From their vantage point, they've been "closely watching" the Russian forces, "building objectives
to practice against" and conducting drills that "replicate exactly what's going on" in the war.
"It keeps us on our toes," he said.
The "Screaming Eagles" commanders told CBS News repeatedly that they are always "ready to fight tonight,"
and while they're there to defend NATO territory, if the fighting escalates or there's any attack on NATO,
they're fully prepared to cross the border into Ukraine.

Kind of disappointed that we haven't head from Allen Iverson yet, though. This sordid clambake has slipped.

It is called a national defense, btw.
Sending the U.S. military to many places around the world to say, "We're ready to kick your @ss IF..." is one of the main reasons the U.S. is a dying empire that is over 30 trillion dollars in debt.

Itaewon doom
Itaewon crowd crush: Horror as more than 150 die in Seoul district
At least 151 people have died in a crush as huge Halloween crowds surged into a narrow street in South Korea's
capital, Seoul, officials say. At least another 82 were injured in the incident in the Itaewon nightlife area which
was holding its first unmasked Halloween celebrations since Covid.
Reports describe a desperate scene of people caught up in the crush piling on top of each other. Most of the dead
were teenagers or in their 20s. Nineteen were foreigners.
An estimated 100,000 people came to celebrate there on Saturday to mark the first Halloween since the start of
the pandemic where gathering sizes were not limited and people did not need to wear masks outside.
The crush appears to have started in a narrow, sloped alleyway that was overcrowded with people...
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-63443044
I have been on this exact sloped alleyway, right next to the Hamilton Hotel, many times.
100,000 people gathering in this area is insane, because Itaewon is not that large.
It is a lot of small alleyways, backstreets, restaurants, shops, bars, coffee shops, etc.
Tragic.

Re: Doom
More on the tragedy in Itaewon...
Twenty-six foreigners were killed, including two Americans.
This alleyway connect to the sloped alleyway where most of the deaths occurred.
This is surreal to me, because as I said, I have walked on this (and the sloped) alleyway many times.
The tragedy began as a massive crowd squeezed into a steep four-meter-wide alleyway next to Hamilton
Hotel, became entangled and eventually began collapsing on top of each other. People in the back did
not recognize the agony of the people in the front due to the loud noise and music and continued to try
to shove their way through the crowd, saying, “Push, push.”
https://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20221031000617
"Push, push..."
I am sorry to say, that is how it typically rolls here.
When in doubt, just push forward.
I have been in SO many unpleasant crowd situations here, and of course nothing that approaches what happened on this tragic day, but the instinct to just jam things forward is one I have been witness to many times.
Waiting is not an option.
