NL All-Stars on the left side

Post by Bizzarofelice »

Who's the man at short and at 3rd? Rolen and Chipper are injured. Nomar and Barmes are injured. I guess the question is who are the players going to pick to take their place? I'm not sure if the players or the managers would make that call, but who should be the players taking those spots?

I've voted a few times online so far, voted again today...here's my latest ballot:

American League
1B: Teixeira
2B: Roberts
SS: Tejada
3B: Rodriguez
C: Varitek
DH: Ortiz
OF: Anderson, Damon, Sheffield

National League
1B: Lee
2B: Kent
SS: Rollins
3B: Glaus
C: Hernandez
OF: Abreu, Cabrera, Lee

Would've voted for Barmes at SS if he wasn't hurt...he's been my choice up to this point.

I looked at the stats of shartstops. Try again. Not "easy".

He's been outstanding from a fantasy perspective and is even better defensively.

Eckstein would be another good choice.

Rollins and Glaus.

A Nomar/Rolen left side would have been sick.

How the hell can anyone consider Nomore? Izturis is having a huge year. He should be a lock.

Barmes is hurt so he's disqualified.

I didn't say Rollins was tops in all stats categories but his defense has been stellar.. he's taken away a lot of hits this year.

Offensively he's on par with the rest of the SS.. lacking in hits (5th) but 2nd in runs to Barmes (who he'll pass), and 4th in Total Bases and 3rd or 4th in steals... and he's not a lead off hitter.

Eckstein should get some consideration as should Isturzis but neither are as good defensively as Rollins.

I've changed my SS vote to Lopez with Cincinnati.

Best players would be:
lo duca, lee, utley, lopez, ramirez, burrell, a. jones, abreu

likely, with the DH being in effect, pujols will be voted in but lee will get to DH.
why is my neighborhood on fire
