NFL playoffs ...
It doesn't get any better than this.
Niners do Niner things.
Chargers shit the bed as usual.
This is why it's America's sport. It's un American to not watch NFL football.
It's going to be a hell of a ride this year.

The '9ers mowed the Seahawks in the 2nd half -- and the Blots shit the bed, as you accurately stated.
27-0 lead (with the opposing QB tossing 4 picks) and you LOSE the game?
LOL

OMG, the Chargers lost? You have GOT to be kidding. I turned it off after the first quarter and eventually went to bed.

Re: NFL playoffs ...
Two games that illustrated that you've got to play for 60 minutes.
SEA had to feel pretty good at halftime.
Then they came out and got curb stomped by the powerful 49ers in the 2nd half.
It isn't often that a coach gets his team to the playoffs and is then canned, but it wouldn't surprise me if B. Staley was sent packin'.
Pretty hilarious 2nd half meltdown.

Re: NFL playoffs ...
Niners are rolling. McCaffrey + Samuel + Kittle + Ayuk is a lot of weapons to have to deal with. Plus Mr Irrelevant seems to have an amazing feel for the game, especially for a rookie. His rollouts and scrambles to buy time just killed the Seahawks.
And the defense almost had another second half shutout.
I love seeing Pete Carroll lose. What’s your deal?

Full agreement.
That smug sanctimonious asshole can't become irrelevant quickly enough.
Shut up, Randy!
Re: NFL playoffs ...
Boy, that was some bad clock management by the 49ers.
Ooops! I mean the Dolphins. Sorry, every time I see a team do something really stupid, I just assume it's the 49ers.
I probably won't be watching anymore games today, as the winners will realise they have to eventually take on the Bills and they'll figure, why bother? What's the point? We can't win anyway so why does anything matter anymore?

Re: NFL playoffs ...
Miami had a look at it, but inexperience and likely playoff nerves eventually got the best of them. They are certainly no longer the slouches they have been for the last few years. Local KC product Skyler Thompson is legit.

Re: NFL playoffs ...
Yep. That was a backbreaker. Diving over the goal line like that is such a high risk/high reward play. If it works, the play is automatically dead and you score. But if you fuck it up and don't break the goal line, you expose the ball to a defensive strip, which is exactly what happened.Softball Bat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 4:37 am The Ravens lost a heartbreaker.

Even worse, they ran it back for a TV. 14 point swing. Way to go.

John Harbaugh said in post-game that the play is designed for the QB to go low.
Tyler Huntley apparently took it upon himself to try to reach it over the top that way.
That's a play he will never forget.

Re: NFL playoffs ...
Cowboys PK going for a record?
0 for 3 in the first half.
I’m pretty sure he already has the record for most consecutive misses in the first half of a wild card game on Monday night.

So, five TDS in this game, and no conversions.

Nine guys have missed 3. Nobody has ever missed 4. Let alone in the playoffs.

Re: NFL playoffs ...
In an era where place kickers routinely nail 45-50 yd FGs, how the hell does someone miss 4 PATs?
How is this guy in the league? Does he have a history of sucking?

He actually had a good regular season.
29 of 32 on FGs -- and was 9 of 11 from over 50 yds.

Their biggest game of the year, and Barffalo didn't show up.

They showed up, but this was inevitable. just blown off the line of scrimmage. Complacency and more than a touch of arrogance has been the Achilles heel of the coaching staff/GM for the last two years.

Re: NFL playoffs ...
What a disappointing performance from the Bills. Josh Allen needs to get his shit together. Too many picks, careless with the ball, gets outplayed in big games. Buffalo defense was shit today too.
Re: NFL playoffs ...
They're missing Brian Daboll, when he left interceptions went through the roof and the offense broke down. His replacement is an apprentice trying to run a copy of a Daboll offense.
