Wildcard Weekend Roll Call 1-13-24
Paul Stanley's kid is doing is own thing. I actually like his voice
better. He and Nick Simmons both swear they have no interest
wearing the make-up, but for me, it's a no brainer. I think they
would rock it well. One thing for sure, it would be much better
than the current A.I. bullshit gimmick that's in the works.
FOC sucks more than ever this weekend with temps that are
typical for HPG's neck of the woods. Currently at 5:30AM it is
0 degrees. On the bright side, it is supposed 13 degrees colder
this time tomorrow morning.
But even -30 windchills can't stop grill biz this AM. Going to knock
that shit out early as the afternoon and evening are for Wildcard Weekend.
Debatably, the best weekend on the NFL calendar, we will have 12
of the best 14 teams facing off. "Best weekend," for all of us except
d-town, who will be stressing over which hat and jersey to sport for
his gravy training, and wearing out his 10 key counting the number
of non-crackers on the field.
I would like to break down each game in detail but will do so for
only one, while offering only a brief take on the others while selecting
my pics.
Browns @ Texans-
Cle proved they could win there just a few weeks back. They seem to
be on a role of late also. .net thinking always tells you to go with the
heady white guy at QB, but C.J. has been very impressive.
I think the Cle D will be the difference. Browns win.
Fish at KC - As I mentioned last week about the Chiefs-
"They will be the most dangerous team in the brackets."
Don't get all caught up in the 11-6 record. That should really be 14-3
or even 15-2. KC simply overlooked Den and Vegas in their losses
after having dominated for so long and both teams were simply
tired of getting the shit kicked out of themselves. That happens in
conference play.
The Lions, Eagles, Packers and Bills losses were all one possession
games that were all very winnable. As you already know, the dropped
passes this season simply killed what could have been a historic
season and removed Mahomes from any possible MVP discussion.
IF THE CHIEFS CATCH THE BALL, THEY WIN, END OF CONVERSATION!
If they don't then it's likely over tonight. The defense is rock solid.
The weather is absolute shit, and it will be the coldest game ever at
Arrowhead, along with being one of the coldest playoff games ever.
A Miami team should not have a cunt hair's chance of coming here
and winning this game. Better QB, better coach, along with both having
much more playoff experience. On paper this one is a no-brainer,
and the betting public agrees as the game has moved 2 points since
the open. Chiefs win.
Pitt @ Buff - I am not impressed by the Steelers. While I would like to see
them win and will be cheering that way as well, I don't see it happening.
Bills win.
GB @ Dallas - Dem Boys are very tough at home. Cowboys win.
Rams @ Lions - Sucks this a late night game, as I will miss most of it.
Det is slightly better perhaps and has the home field, but the
deciding factor here is QB. Both teams have very solid QB's but
Matt Stafford is great ..... at losing when it matters. Lions win.
Philly @ TB - The Eagles have been a complete disaster of late losing
5 of the last 6, while the Bucs were doing the exact opposite.
Philly won the head to head matchup earlier in the season.
You can't really apply the .net factor here. While I enjoy watching
Baker play, he does fit the profile of "heady white guy." Philly sets
aside whatever internal turmoil they have for a while and get this one.
Philly wins.
Summarized winners-
Cle
KC
Buff
Dall
Det
Philly
M.o.t.W
I have not been having much luck with finding many good maga or yam
bashing memes of late, so I will go with tried and true racial stereotype.

What's funny about your shitty, racist meme? Can't you find any memes that are 1) funny and 2) not racist?

Board fascist checks in. It's not even funny. The first rule. If you're going to post a racist meme, make sure it is at least funny. Or else it just exposes you racists and fascists for the brainless douchebags you are.88BuckeyeGrad wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 3:19 pm [Is there anything in the world that does not chafe your vag?]Where would this board be without the astute observations of Screwy, who lives in DC?[/Is there anything in the world that does not chafe your vag?]

Do you mind posting or linking to a "funny" "racist meme" that complies with your "first rule"? And what is it in particular about racism that you find "funny"?Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:18 pmIt's not even funny. The first rule. In.
Yep, it's damn cold here now just like 90% of the country right now.
We got exactly zero inches of snow. Sucks to be those starting just 30 miles north of us. We avoided the snow bullshit again!
Fuck the NFL, go Blues!

Oh, a Blues fan now. How surprising. How long did it take for you to remove your framed Avalanche jersey from the wall and replace with a Blues one? If/when I ever move from the 'burgh, I'll ALWAYS be a Pens fan. Move to Philly? Fuck the Flyers. Move to Nashville? Fuck the Preds. Move to Tampa? Fuck the Lightning. Always, always, always.
Relaxing today and looking forward to the rest of this 3-day weekend. Got some split pea soup simmering away on the rangetop. That's about all the 'work' I'm doing today... and likely the rest of this weekend other than maybe restocking the porch with a bit more firewood for tonight/tmrrw.

Besides, where's the legal document or contract that you had to sign to be a fan? No one is obligated to be "committed" to a team.
The only Denver team I still root for is the Avalanche. Even then I don't wear the team gear much anymore and might see a game on ESPN+.
Otherwise, fuck Denver teams.

In the past 60 hours all I've accomplished is thawing 6 valves, 3 times each.
These valves freeze up because they're full of production water and it's -25°. Two more days of this cold front.
The rest of my crew is on snow detail. Should be fun to see how much shit they broke.

Re: Wildcard Weekend Roll Call 1-13-24
Moved to Denver in 1993 when they were still the Quebec Norodiques. Like everyone else, I became a fan in their first season in 1995-96 and the Stanley cup that season solidified the new fan ship. But I didn't buy a jersey until 1999. Just a couple t-shirts up until then. Didn't even attend a game until 2002 I think.
I was still a Blues fan but couldn't watch games then because of the lack of streaming. Plus the Blues weren't even relevant until that 2018-2019 season.
Back to St. Louis in 2021.
Got any other false assumptions?

Late for the roll call. Now at hospital about to get another epidural. Chronic pain ain't fun but I'm fortunate that there are things that help.
Made little rum cakes for the docs and nurses, and of course since it is Mardi Gras season, I brought a king cake as well. I should post the recipe for the rum cake. Y'all have a good one.

Hate that you’re hurting. Been through more back surgeries and other procedures than I can keep up with. I now only deal with what I refer to as “standard old guy back”.
Finally got some longterm relief (without drugs). Highly suggest you check with Kirklin Clinic/UAB, Birmingham. I chose a doc there after visiting both the Mayo Clinic and Emory. Great facility. Awesome physicians.

Nice work!
What clued you in? Was it the king cake references? Or the nod to Mardi Gras? Or maybe it was dtown telling you his board name and actual nickname in the immediately preceding post?
Either way, nice work kcpoirot.
