Screw the bag.
It will only slow you down once the space aliens start chasing us down for food.

than a squirrel turd. I work with a guy, (trump kook, conspiracy whacko
as well), who rolls with a 40lb rucksack, jammed full with everything but
the kitchen sink. He keeps it right next to him everywhere he goes. When
he gets to work, he locks it away in the trunk of his car, then takes it back
out when leaving. You would think he was heading thru Kandahar and ready
for a fight with the Taliban. In reality his commute nothing more than an
easy drive through farmland to the most vanilla white bedroom community
you have ever seen. As expected he was one of the first people in the state
to sign up and obtain his CCW license and now enjoys Missouri's open carry
law by proudly displaying one of his many guns on his hip when wanders the
aisles at his local grocer. "Nobody's ever gonna fuck with me."

1/4 lb of high quality indica and a jumbo bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos.
Seriously, I don’t know why I would need any of that stuff. If the shit hits the fan, I’ll be staying home. Plenty of food in the pantry and I could run the house off the grid if I needed to. I may need to install a 50 cal turret mount in the attic pointing down the driveway to protect us from the invaderscrossing the southern border coming in from MAGA country.

Usually don't carry, but when I do it is a small S&W .357 revolver that is loaded with .38s.

The question is: what will cause the mayhem to begin with?

Wallet with cash, cards and ID and nothing else.
Mrs. 88 and I both own 9mm Beretta's (92FS and 92X) and try to train once a month at the range to be sharp. But both are always stored in a locked safe, unloaded. We'd have to petition for a time out if an invader visited.
I do keep some supplies around in the event the shit hits the fan. Mostly for hurricanes and stuff. Zombies and a break down of society are not high on the preparedness list.

Wallet contains cash, DL, CP, and insurance card.
If anarchists or Chinese attack, my neighbor’s arsenal will hold them off for at least a month. They’d need Apache attack helicopters to breach this area.

K...well. Guess I'll be the weirdo.
I join a few like-minded friends for tactical training once a month. I have four complete load outs for myself and my sons and I train with them.
Each load out includes the following:
Plate carrier with level A2 tactical plates (tapered on the right side for shouldering a weapon). A2 plates will stop anything up to armor piercing 30-06
Cummerbund plates.
Armalite style rifle in 5.56NATO, .300AAC, or .308
7 loaded magazines (6 in moly-attached pouches, one mag in the weapon)
Tactical belt with PFAK, tourniqet, spare mags for sidearm.
Thigh holster for an FN509 or FN FiveSeven.
Kevlar helmet
Binoculars
Tactical knife (sharp on both sides)
2 way radio
96 hour bags have usual roughing it gear. Nothing too special to discuss.
The whole works weighs in at 55lbs.
If you guys can't manage to stop an invading force with flip flops and insurance cards, don't worry, we'll pin 'em down at the Continental Divide.

Sounds like a great way to bond with your boys and have some fun at the same time, hanging out for a long weekend with some like minded manly men and their manly toys without having to take a shower even once. So RACK da fuck outta dat.
I have a feeling, though, that if we ever get invaded here it’ll be coming from the east, not the south or the west.

Nah... suburb of DC in Maryland, aka Blue State Hell. Complete with all the 'progressive' policies that erode public safety and cultural norms.
Gotta say... you guys are slipping! No cracks re carrying a "Johnson Key" ?? Another name for it is a "Sillcock Key." Water is life.

A silcock key is a good idea. Crescent wrench for turning gas valves is also a good call.
I don't bother with daily carry right now. Our vehicles can't enter a well site with even one round of live ammunition rolling around on the floorboards.
Getting caught with a firearm or ammo is an immediate and permanent kick/ban. It's too much hassle to remember to take the sidearm in and out of the truck.
My arsenal at home is pretty decent but a little chaotic. If the SHTF I could be ready to roll in a couple hours. I got camping shit spread all over the shed, gun shit spread all over the garage, survival food in the basement. I'm more of a shelter in place guy right now. I do have an old 12v Cummins pickup that will survive an EMP attack, which is nice.

Of course he does, he doesn't live in the city. He doesn't have it as good as I do.

You rent. You have no car. You have no appliances. There is no sugar coating it. You're a total loser. The only thing in your bug out bag is a tube of astroglide for your rapist's convenience.Screw_Michigan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 12:44 amOf course he does, he doesn't live in the city. Re: Every Day Carry or Bug Out Bag Contents
My financial present future is solid and secure. Why would I need appliances? Such a strange metric of success for a virulent racist.
Re: Every Day Carry or Bug Out Bag Contents
Got 4 vehicles, thanks. Two on the road. Like firearms, I have more than I need and not as many as I want.
