Will the funeral procession be lead slowly by a white Bronco?

Will Kato Kaelin greet guests at the funeral home?

The flags will be flying at half-mass today at Galileo. Always thought it was cool to have Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (Ghirardelli Square) across the street from your high school. Not sure how you could study while sitting in class and smelling chocolate all day long.
There must be something to eating chocolate and being a great athlete.
Joe DiMaggio was also an alum of Galileo High School.
A sad day for San Francisco.

A real slashing runner...
His cuts were impeccable.
Ghirardelli Square is the building to the right. Alcatraz in between the buildings to the left.

My dad went to Lincoln HS. He was one year behind Vince Guaraldi.
Ken Venturi, Johnny Miller, Mike Holmgren. Maybe a little more genteel than Galileo?

Galileo is where the Chinese and Italian kids from North Beach and Chinatown go to school. You get some from the Marina, Russian Hill, etc. The Juice grew up in Hunters Point. Not sure how he ended up in the Wharf area.
Too funny.

Haha, when I heard OJ died, I immediately thought of Rome. OJ was a huge part of his schtick.

[From the Norm MacDonald sub-Reddit]
It was reported today that cancer had taken the life of Orenthal James Simpson. Cancer called a press conference and denied the killing, and vowed to find the real killer.

It sucks that OJ outlived Norm. Norm’s reaction would’ve been a goldmine of material.

Thanks to Screwy for the Norm Macdonald material.
Re: If the coffin don’t fit…
When I joined SCIII, there was an OJ forum. It was pre-murders. Hundreds of “Water is Wet. Sin, Orenthal” posts. Lol. Long fucking time ago.

Been a long time since The Bitter Elf was on broadcast radio around here. There was a time a radio station out of Dickinson carried his show. The name of that station: KDIX, lol.
I caught Arnie Spanier on a late night broadcast some months or maybe a year ago. He was good. Better than "I repeat myself" Rome.

Re: If the coffin don’t fit…
Rack.
Norm was a savage and had balls of steel. NBC higher ups that were friends with OJ warned him to cut out the jokes and Norm doubled down and stuck it to them.
Yeah sure they fired him from SNL but now it proves that he was not only stubbornly hilarious, but he was right.

My favorite email sent into Rome’s show was the week of Star Wars Episode 1 premiere:
Dear Jim,
I at least know of two people who will not be attending the new Star Wars movie premiere.

I am old enough that I was watching the NFL in 1973.
O.J. in 1973 was... phenomenal.
50 years later, he still holds the record for most rushing yards averaged per game in a season.
He still owns the record, by 10 freaking yards a game.

That dude was bad.

8 running backs have eclipsed 2000 yards in one season. Only one of them did it in 14 games while all the others had to do it in 16. OJ.
That is insane. His record will never be broken.
ESPN and all the national media talked about Caitlin Clark breaking Pistol Pete’s scoring record, but they all failed to mention she did it in 129 games versus Pete’s 83. She also made 548 3-pointers to Pete’s zero because there was no 3-point shot during his college or professional years. If you reduced all her 3s to 2s, she’d be over 200 points shy of Pete’s record in 45 more games played.

Re: If the coffin don’t fit…
Now, Pete never faced the amount of attention and pressure to perform AND win each night he went out there and balled. LSU was terrible and the Game of the Century didn’t put college basketball on the map until mid way through his collegiate career.Screw_Michigan wrote:Stop it, Rumps. Caitlin’s accolades are very impressive considering the ungodly amount of attention and media following her around. I’d imagine if Pete were under similar circumstances and he played for a solid program that cares about winning back then, he wouldn’t average 44 a night.

Re: If the coffin don’t fit…
The players defending Pete were probably shorter and less athletic, on average.
Re: If the coffin don’t fit…
No doubt the level of competition due to civil rights issues, basketball being a distant 3rd to baseball and football back then, it was a combo of Pete being ahead of his time and playing very inconsistent competition.
His game didn’t translate well to the pros because the league wasn’t ready for it. And when the media did put pressure on him, he suffered from it. Alcoholism crept in during his playing days. I think if Pete was born 10-15 years later, he would have been an absolute stud in the 80s/early 90s.
