I was thinking about smoking some beef jerky today but my stereo hi-fi broke down last night in the middle of Tune Town. Completely lost the right channel, so now I'm about to start troubleshooting.
My first suspect is the Denon power amp that I bought in 1985. Everything else from that system is long gone but this thing has been a 220 wpc workhorse for almost 40 years. Paired with some floor standing 12" JBLs you could hardly stay in the same room if it was turned up. Lost those speakers a couple of years after marriage because they didn't look good in the living room.

The thing weighs about 40 lb so it's a bear to try and pull out of that little hole. Actually, I think the first thing I'll do is just switch the speakers around to make sure the rh speaker didn't crap out. Next thing is to try switching the speakers from "A" to "B". A shot in the dark, but worth a try because I only have one set of speakers.
Update:
I was going to check out the speakers first so I started some music on Amazon Music and…everything was working perfectly. WTF.
So maybe it was a problem streaming TuneTown on Chrome. I started streaming one of Smackie’s archived shows and it worked fine too. So maybe it was just me, but I wasn’t TOO buzzed last night. The mystery remains unsolved. Not disappointed though. Maybe I’ll get another 40 years from the power amp.
