I suspect this is an AI generated photo. It basically has to be since there's no way that boat is a Google Streetview asset. And if it was a Google Streetview boat we would get flat 2D pictures from water level only.
Google is taking a variety of images and rendering them into a smooth transitioning 3D experience. Part of that process seems to involve giving the viewer what the AI thinks they want to see. Birds in the air, waves crashing that aren't blurry, etc.
I suspect Godzirrah gets added to the photo because the AI learning model thinks people in that part of the world expect to see a big lizard in the ocean.
This incident creates an important question. What are we being shown falsities and how do we identify what's fake? Also, what are we not being shown that's actually real?
