Almost all electric bikes are made in China. I've heard that they send the shittiest batteries to the US. I have a large battery in my garage (20 kWh - enough to run our house for several days if needed). But it's not a lithium ion battery, instead it's lithium iron phosphate which doesn't spontaneously combust.

That's one reason I got the battery. These days they tend to shut down the grid when the Santa Anas start blowing. They call them PSPS - Public Safety Power Shutoffs. It hasn't actually happened here for five or six years, but dammit I'm ready.
