As Roux posted yesterday (I believe), I don't believe this. The choice for the vast majority of the voting public is Trump or not Trump. Very little from this point forward will change anyone's mind, whether it's debates, campaigning, shit-slinging, etc. Sooooo many people detest Trump, including me., Hell, imo, that is the reason he lost to Sleepy Joe last election. I expect the same this election. I find it verrrrry hard to believe that anyone can say the Dems are toast. That is very shortsighted.

Further to that, I believe there are many conservatives such as Sudden Sam that will not cast a vote for either due to how much they detest Trump. This will certainly hurt the chance of Trump winning.

A few things here, dave...

I share your view that Dump is odious, and should never again be anywhere near the oval office.

That said, based on polling and projections prior to the elections of 2016 and 2020, Dump over-performed.
That will happen again.

Reason? There are a whole lot of "closet" Trump supporters.
They do not want to publicly admit that they support this man, but when voting day rolls around, they will get out and vote for him.
And these are white voters, rust belt voters, which are important states in this election.

Much of Harris' support comes from young people, and minorities, both of which do not get out and vote as the rate old white crackers do.

Whatever the polls show leading up to the election, add a couple of percentage points to Dump's side.
He will "over-perform" again.

And again, the economy will be THE issue.

And there are very different records of each team’s views on these things, party by party.
