Wal-Mart heir John T. Walton, who threw his considerable financial support behind efforts to educate low-income children, has died in the crash of a homemade, experimental aircraft.
Yeah, what a scumbag.

Is it mandatory for rich people to do that? Do the Heinz-Kerrys do it too?

Every rich person gives money to charity so they don't have to give it to the government. What every rich person does not do, is start their own foundation to enact public school reform and by doing so guarantee themselves a gigantic increase in workload.

You cheer this guy's death? You suck.

http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:tmJ2 ... pist&hl=en

By contrast(as compared to a standard voucher program), the $100 million that John Walton and Ted Forstmann have invested in the Children’s Scholarship Fund goes directly to families. Their smaller grant has already done more to constructively change American education than the Annenberg Foundation ever will.

http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:2OMb ... pist&hl=en

John Walton is a director of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Mr. Walton also serves on several non-profit foundations, including Walton Family Foundation, with a focus on scholarships and assisting public school improvement; and the New American Schools Development Corporation, a non-profit organization that develops new educational "delivery models" for public school use. Mr. Walton is chairman of School Futures Research, an organization that develops and operates charter public schools based in San Diego, California.

http://interversity.org/lists/arn-l/arc ... 00208.html
Another philanthropist infected by the
education reform bug, this time a
devotee of theory four, is Wal-mart heir
John Walton. Because of his deep
commitment to providing poor and minority
students with educational
opportunities (and eventually changing the
entire K-12 delivery system), the
Walton Family Foundation has helped launch
and develop dozens of charter
schools, aided charter-support
organizations, underwritten an annual school
choice symposium run by the Black Alliance
for Educational Options (which
Walton philanthropy also supports), assisted
private schools serving students
from low-income families, and stimulated
scholarship programs to get them
there. This list goes on and on.

No you wouldn't. You'd still hate him because he was wealthy. Besides, it's a moot point because if he paid his workers what you think is "better pay", he'd be out of business in a couple of months.

Yeah, there's lots of kids who go to private schools that end up working at Wal-Mart.

You know what sucks about having money? You're an asshole if you don't give any of it away, you're an asshole if you don't give it enough of it away (enough meaning "most" to people like BSmack), and you're an asshole if you don't give it away to organizations that liberals approve of.

Sad thing is, apparently you libs would hate this guy LESS if he didn't give ANY of his cash away. Nice attitude.

P.S.: For those of you who didn't get any of Walton's vouchers and learn how to read, I actually intended for you to give MOST OF IT away, not some of it. But go ahead and keep interpereting My words to suit your own sinning ass....I've got a suprise waiting for you.

P.P.S.: You guys really need to work on that "not killing" and "not coveting" thing, too. I'm watching.

Felice brought up the exact passage I was thinking of, which is the one the "christian values" people have taken an eraser to in the almost-holy Bible.

The bible is a living document written long ago.

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife" also includes same-sex partners and common law spouses, because all are in the spirit of the author's intentions.

No its not. The Bible is a rulebook used by hucksters to control people. Like any other fraud, it is made even more dangerous by having elements of truth attached to the big lie. One of those elements of truth is the idea that we should not kill each other.

If one continues to base ones opinions on some made up self-serving garbage of what a Christain is; one can never go wrong HERE.

Concerning CHRISTIAN matter's, I prefer The BIBLE over some of your messed up crap.

Matt: 7:
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Din's is simply an idiot who try's to shutyomouth responce, but if mv actually believes that by doing proper evil, one will be blessed by the almighty, he's being as big of a fool as those al-Quaida freaks are.

There's a difference between life and death situations where it's kill or be killed (self defense), and killing because you can, decide it's the only way to get what someoen else has that you want, or are told to. Just depends on where you draw the line.
