Movie Review: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Post by HighPlainsGrifter »

The setup is clunky, lacklusterly acted, and takes too long.
Too many plot lines try to give too many actors too much screen time.
Winona Rider forgot she isn't playing Joyce from Stranger Things.
There is too much CGI and as usual it makes acting difficult.
I normally love William Dafoe but he is not good in this. William H. Macy would have been my choice.
Jenna Ortega was miscast. Her Wednesday Addams schtick is absolute garbage in this role.
Michael Keaton is incredible. He and Bob save the movie.
The villain was the best non-Beetlejuice character and should have been given more screen time. Tighten up the intro, shave a few clunky story lines, and flesh out the evil dead guy's character and this movie would improve by a full star.

Thanks for the pity post, Fiat.

If I were to compare the movie to a football team, it was a lot like the California Golden Bears losing three in a row. It was not the worst thing to spend time watching and there was always hope for it to get better, but deep down you know kicking field goals isn't going to get it done.

Oh, you think Cal can kick field goals?

If Cal could kick field goals they would be undefeated.

Cal has the worst coach and kicker in the country. Period.

7-14 on field goals. Isn't exactly stellar.

I look forward to my 3 hours of horror every Saturday. Because I know how it's going to end.

Normally I can rebound on Sunday with The Niners. Not this year.

Climate change is kicking the Bay Area's ass and I'm coming to grips with it.

Yessir. I loved the first one. I'm hoping all the online haters are wrong about the Deuce.
