It’s too bad you’re too dim to see the irony in that statement.Screw_Michigan wrote:
Democrats are 100% in favor of SCOTUS doing their job for them when it comes to abortion or any other issue where they see a political advantage. They’ve had about 6 years now to put RvW back through the legislative process.
But that’s the last thing they want.
They want the fear mongering that comes with crying about women losing their “reproductive rights”.

Re: LA DODGERS vs. Yanks
So when did base runner oven mitts become a thing?
I get the reasoning. They don’t wanna ruin their manicures, but making your hand longer gives them an advantage.
I argued this with my son in law last night. Being a gen….Xer? WTF is someone born in ‘91? Millennial, maybe?
Anyhoo they’re all Nancy boys.
He said that their oven mitts didn’t make their hands longer which is clearly bullshit. Plus, we are talking baseball here. These motherfukkers will cheat almost as much as neckcar dude. You know damn well, they wear those fukking things as loosely as they can to make them even longer.
Anyhoo, at least that shit is over with. That 5th inning has to be the worst defensive collapse in the history of the game. Makes Bill Buckner look like nothing.
I just realized the parallel to that famous flub. First baseman makes a shit play on an easy ground ball hit by a colored boy named Mookie.
Pretty sure that was Mookie Wilson and that hit the ground ball to Buckner, wasn’t it?
Has there ever been a white dude named Mookie?
I kinda feel that Betts should be darker. He’s too white to be a Mookie.

If they do their job, the politicians supported by folks like you will crucify them.
I don’t blame them a fukking bit for looking the other way.
But I’m sure Kamala will fix it. She was a prosecutor you know….before she became the chief apologist for lefty anarchists.

Still haven’t figured out why some of us support Cheetolini, despite the fact that we don’t particularly care for his numerous character flaws?

What I haven’t figured out is what sort of drugs you’re on. Today it seems like maybe you doubled up on the Adderall.

The Yankees could still pull this out, if Mike Pence would just do his part.

I’ll have to reluctantly RACK the Dodgers. Back in April they were supposed to be the Team of the Century but it was a long season and there are always unforeseen challenges, and they were looking quite vulnerable down the stretch. But when crunch time came around they definitely delivered.
You don’t know how painful it was for me to write that last paragraph. Wait until next season. The Padres will have yet another chance to fold.

Re: LA DODGERS vs. Yanks
ESPN Power Rankings for 2025 (which of course means nothing but is still fun to discuss) has SD at #3 behind LA & Philly. They’re going to be tough next year, but the Dodgers will go after Soto, will have Ohtani in the starting rotation, and will hopefully be able to keep a few other starters healthy. My guess is Kershaw will retire but I wouldn’t expect much from him if he doesn’t and stays with LA.Mikey wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 11:35 pmThat’s what it’s all about, right?Smackie Chan wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 10:57 pm I’m just glad we’re still talking about the WS in this thread.

The Dodgers not only have shloads of money, but also a top notch organization from top to bottom, including player development, a shrewd front office, an excellent manager, and players willing to buy into the system and create chemistry. Combining their resources with saber metrics and signing free agents who not only bring skill but character as well makes for teams that win year after year. When they do get the occasional shady character (e.g., Trevor Bauer & Julio Urias), they make clean breaks from them.
I’m one of the worst types of fan because I always figure my teams will find a way to tank, and unfortunately that usually happens. The Dodgers’ injuries this year may have been a blessing in disguise in that they made the team have to fight until the end of the regular season rather than win the division by 20 games, which carried over into the postseason. The last few postseasons were painful because LA just didn’t seem to want it as bad as other teams, which I’m sure isn’t true but still looked that way. I was certain they wouldn’t win it all this year just based on recent history (bad fan!).
Nice to see those forward-thinking fans in LA took the initiative to begin demolition work on the city in preparation for the ‘28 Olympics.

Dave Roberts looked very UN-Roberts like this post season. I scratched my head a few times with batting orders vs. player production but can't argue with success. Having a good bat at 9 with Ohtani, Betts, & Freeman coming up worked out well...(other than O-tani in the Series). We'll see if that drive continues next year IF they have the season projected and almost all sporting their rings.

That level of defensive collapse had to be collusion.
When is the WS ratified.
