I feel now as some people felt on May 19, 1896, the day after Plessy v. Ferguson was decided. Some people knew that day that "separate but equal" simply was wrong, even though it was decided via a process established by our democracy. They also knew that one day, that mistake would be corrected and history would regard them as right.

So too today. Yes, the prediction on the election results was wrong. But at some point this electoral mistake will be corrected. Our vision for our country remains right, and we should never think otherwise.

Elections have consequences, as those who have voted against their own self interest will find out soon enough. Stupid is supposed to hurt. trump is like America's kidney stone, painful, but it will pass.

An immediate consequence of the election is that I lost a bet. I'm not sure if the guy (name?) even posts here anymore, but no matter, I will honor the bet. I'm just glad I woke up and wasn't living in the midwest or south. That would have been really fucked up. I underestimated how much white trash is really out there. I'm just thankful that Sam will have enough money today for his cup o' noodles, HPG will be able to splurge and get a happy meal today and not settle, and the beaner will have enough money for gas to put into his leaf blower. Still contemplating flying out to North Carolina on Friday to watch Cal drop some woke on the wake. Nothing like dropping a truth bomb on the trumpers to get their weekend kick started.
