Weekend Roll Call 11-23-24

Post by kcdave »

Oldie but goodie

Chances are high that this will be the last of 60+ degree weather
for FOC for the next few mos. There is always the cunt hair chance
you may get a really warm day in Dec or Jan, but odds are we wont
be seeing it here until mid to late February when I begin dick teasing
Grifter w/ the end of winter.

Heading to the pool soon, and a little grill biz afterwards before heading
to lunch at Taco Via. I don't recall discussing the Via at T1B but there was
certainly much spirited banter about it at .net.

I will be getting the regular as I always do .

Image

Clockwise - Nacho, taco, taco dog, beans, and tostada (in the center)
Same as I did more than 45 years ago back when we still had malls.

The evening will bring gumbo, jambalaya, and some fried chicken as
totally go off the rails on any type of sensible diet for the day.
The gumbo and jambalaya will be from Mudbugs. KC's finest, and
sadly one of just a few Cajun joints in town. Chip, I will try to snap
a few pics for you to evaluate and critique.

I will try and catch a little of the MIZZOU game at 3, but it wont be

high priority, and it should be an easy win. Should be!! #&%^@!&

My football viewing is more concerned with the 6:00 game.
Army/ ND
The importance of this game is huge to me, while miniscule at the same time,
if this makes sense.  The Knights have not won this game in my lifetime.
However, they rarely play anymore, and have barely played a dozen times since the 60's.
Only 7 in the last 40 fucking years.  But, I have to admit, it would be really nice to see
Army get one, and even better to see them get a possible sniff of a playoff.
But we all know the deal.  They just don't have the right horses for this race, and that's ok.
These days, and decades, beating Navy and Airforce is what really matters as all 3 face the
same difficult circumstances of finding great talent that can meet the stringent physical
requirements/limitations of the military. GO ARMY!

Chiefs winning streak is over. Thankfully, we do not have to be concerned
with that any longer.
@Carolina tomorrow. This should not be much
of a game. Panthers are near the bottom in virtually every single stat that
matters. Carson Wentz should be taking snaps by the start of the 4th
quarter. 3pete is only 78 days away.

Nary a single board worthy meme to be found this week. :-|

Happy weekend, Y'all.

The stringent academic requirements are what prevent the service academies from being competitive.

If Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis get on a roll today, Army has a shot.

Got Aggies-Auburn today and OU-Bama this evening.

Traveling late today to Ohio to visit family for the holiday. Probably won't see much football (aside from the tOSU vs. Windiana tilt). Go Army!

That Mexican food photo in the first post gave me indigestion. Probably the shits tomorrow. Damn you, Dave.

In from the grocery store. And just called an audible at the line.

I've been looking at recipes for a week or so, now on a big shopping trip. But just saw these nice looking pearl onions, and I'm adding them to the mix. Not sure yet what I'll do with them, maybe just roast them as a stand alone side dish, or maybe add them to one of the other dishes. But 2 pounds are now in the cart.

Ok, probably a bit much over pearl onions. But Thanksgiving shopping is fun to me, and I'm walking around pain free after the epidural earlier this week. That, plus the legislative Special Session ended yesterday, and so all is good.

Well, not everything in Baton Rouge. IYKYK. Let's just say that I'm looking forward to baseball season.

Whitesnake just came on my Spotify, and if I don't get moving soon then I'll start air drumming right here in the veggie section. Big swig of coffee and Bailey's, and y'all have a good one.

Triumph now playing. 8)

Well, you can't spell Triumph w/out Trump.

Just finished the last of the housecleaning in preparation for family visiting for Thanksgiving. Relaxation time now. May pour an early cocktail then settle in for the PSU game at 3:30. Might make myself some eggs benedict for dinner tonight and build a nice fire in the fireplace.

No Sam.... its as I said. Its the physical standards. The Domers are the local JoCo. They have a standard or two. The service academy's are crippled by physical standards. Your typical D1 left tackle this 6'5, 310 does not meet military standards. He would be considered overweight. All the military line men are undersized on both sides of the ball. Games are won in the trenches.

Looking at West Point’s requirements for body fat %, height, weight, etc, it’s clear they make exceptions for football. They have multiple 300 pound OL.

Wrong band, it was The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
