Conservatives are also the ones who want to "unleash energy." In turn, power companies are not being held accountable. Google PGE & wildfire and you'll see that power companies are part of the problem.

Could have been started by Jewish Space Lasers like the Trumpers like to think all the wildfires in California start.
I doubt it though. Too many Jews live in Pacific Palisades.

Re: Fire in Pacific Palisades
It didn't take long for you leftist retards to hide behind climate change. We've had Santa Ana winds in Socal since the dawn of time, so choke on my girthless five-inch cock. Let's put some faces to the blame here:Conservatives are the climate deniers. Climate change is the reason why we're experiencing weather extremes. Yes, conservatives are a major cause of the wildfire problems.
Conservatives are also the ones who want to "unleash energy." In turn, power companies are not being held accountable. Google PGE & wildfire and you'll see that power companies are part of the problem.
This fucking mutant is Karen Bass, the Mayor of Los Angeles. She thought it was a good idea to slash the fire department budget by over 17 million dollars. She wanted to cut an additional 5 million but got stopped in her tracks. The cuts were so deep, the fire department went on live TV last night begging all off-duty firefighters to report to work. Despite having nearly a week's warning that a "potentially deadly" wind event was coming our way, she flew to Africa to witness a presidential inauguration on the city's dime. She spent more money on homeless drug addicts than she did on the fire department. It will probably come out that the Palisades and some of the other fires were caused by the homeless bums themselves.
Here's your token, DEI hire LA City Fire Chief, Kristin Crowley (yayyyyyy!!!). Maybe she can explain why the fire hydrants ran dry last night. Upon assuming command, she made women and LGBTQ hires a priority for the fire department. This may explain why, thus far in the wildfires, the only firefighter to be injured and taken out of action was a woman. How many male fire fighters were taken off line to tend to an unqualified and physically weaker human who managed to get herself hurt? Worse than that, how many able bodied MALE applicants were passed over in order to check the diversity box? And how many more of these applicants were so disillusioned by LAFD's hiring practices that they sought employment elsewhere? Maybe Kristin and that wretched corpse of a New Orleans police chief can co-marshal a gay pride parade next year.
This dude is CEO and Chief Engineer Janisse Quiñones of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP). Another DEI appointment spearheaded by African enthusiast, Mayor Karen Bass who said, "The Department of Water and Power has made important progress toward embracing clean energy, meeting its decarbonization goals, modernizing its infrastructure to be more resilient, getting to a reliant and resilient water future and ensuring vulnerable communities have access to affordable utilities." How about making sure YOU HAVE ENOUGH FUCKING WATER??? I'm sure that's in the job description somewhere.
Here's what this thing said at a presser today regarding the dry fire hydrants. Maybe one of you lefties can decipher his/her broken bureaucrat-ese because I sure as fuck can't. Oh, and this thing "earns" 750K per year.
We've had record rainfall in the past three years and 95% of it ended up in the ocean. That's the Democrats' fault.
We border the largest ocean on Earth but no attempts at constructing desalinization plants (this comes up whenever we have a drought). That's the Democrats' fault.
Incompetent leadership; taking skin color and who (or what) a person fucks over merit; and overpaid, unelected bureaucrats are the cause for the demise of every major city in this country and everyone knows it.

Go ahead & explain what the gender/race/sexual orientation of firefighters have to do with the wind being so strong that the fire was spotting embers 3-5 miles away.
Go ahead & explain how gender/race/sexual orientation have to do with the wind being so strong that helicopters being unable to fly last night.
Go ahead & explain how the gender/race/sexual orientation of firefighters has to do with record precipitation 3 years ago filling up reservoirs at that time to the point they were full but being unable to take more water.
Go ahead & explain how gender/race/sexual orientation have to do with Los Angeles receiving .16" of rain since last May, creating dangerously dry vegetation.
Go ahead & explain how gender/race/sexual orientation have to do with the wealthy purchasing personal fire hydrants that use up that finite supply of water more quickly for their own desires.
You're just like the Nazis blaming the Jewish people for all of Germany's problems when they had nothing to do with Germany's problems. The Nazis didn't care that they were lying as long as they were uniting everyone by their unifying hate of people different from them.

Re: Fire in Pacific Palisades
And finally, go ahead & explain what gender/race/sexual orientation have to do with the difficulty in getting water UP into the hills of PP:
Hydrants in fire-ravaged Pacific Palisades went dry early Wednesday, prompting an outcry from residents. While there is plenty of water in Southern California reservoirs to fight the fires, the logistics of getting enough of it to Pacific Palisades – and at the rate firefighters need to control these blazes – have been difficult, according to water officials.
Pacific Palisades is at the end of the municipal water system line where water flow is naturally lower, a local water official said – water pipe size decreases the farther away you get from a main line to maintain water pressure. Three massive water tanks, each holding 1 million gallons, are intended to supplement the water flowing into the neighborhood’s hydrants and ensure they maintain pressure.
But given the vast amount of water required to fight the fires, those tanks went dry sporadically throughout Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This led water pressure in hydrants to drop. The hydrants went dry around 3 a.m. local time Wednesday, city officials said.
“Those tanks help with the pressure on the fire hydrants in the hills in the Palisades, and because we were pushing so much water in our (main supply line), and so much water was being used … we were not able to fill the tanks fast enough,” Janisse Quiñones, chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power told reporters Wednesday morning. “The consumption of water was faster than we can provide water in a (main) line.”
Water officials “worked with the fire department to try get back in and try to fill the tanks again” themselves, Quinones said. “It wasn’t safe to do so.”
The drop in water pressure and inability to refill the holding tanks caused the hydrant outages, Quiñones and other officials said. Furthermore, the wildfires themselves prevented air drops of water and fire suppressant.
None of the state reservoirs are running dry; all but one of California’s major reservoirs are currently filled at or above their historical averages, according to the California Department of Water Resources.
No other location has had problems getting water where it needs to go, said Michelle Figueroa, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles water department. “The issue is unique to the Palisades because of the demand from the firefighting efforts.”
The water system needs to be updated to keep up with climate change, Quiñones said. The water and power department has been in talks with the county supervisor about changing the way the water system works to better prepare for more frequent wildfires.
“We have to look at our system from a climate resiliency as a region, and it’s going to be more than just (LADWP). It’s all the water agencies here, including the county,” she said.
Los Angeles officials are urging city residents to conserve their water use.

Hiring, especially for positions that are critical to public safety, should be based 100% on merit and qualifications. Neither race nor sexual orientation should be considered at all. Based on what Scott posted, it may be that LA was more concerned with those factors rather than merit.

Ima gonna blame the fire on dry weather, high winds and a location that has burned like this for centuries. But I don’t see anyone arguing that the DEI hires have made things better. Only that they shouldn’t be blamed for things being bad. Strange argument tactic. If DEI was valid, then there ought to be some wins to point to. Just sayin.

Newsom Assures Wildfire Victims He Is Diverting Millions Of Dollars To Emergency DEI InitiativesSudden Sam wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 2:56 am Hiring, especially for positions that are critical to public safety, should be based 100% on merit and qualifications. LOS ANGELES, CA — As the world looked on in shock while multiple wildfires ravaged areas outside of Los Angeles, California Governor Gavin Newsom held a press conference to assure victims that he was diverting millions of dollars toward the state's emergency DEI initiatives.
Tens of thousands of residents had been ordered to evacuate as the fires spread across areas including Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, and the surrounding communities, with no indication that any of the blazes were close to being contained. Newsom vowed to not rest until much-needed relief funding was funneled to the state's DEI programs.
"We're doing our best to make sure monetary aid goes somewhere else," Newsome told the media. "We've all been deeply affected by these wildfires. Me. My staff. Some fish nobody has heard of. As we confront this crisis, the important thing is that we remain focused on the primary goal — ensuring our government agencies and services are fully diverse and inclusive."
One Pasadena resident who watched his home burn to the ground last night was relieved by the news. "Oh, I'm so grateful to hear that," said Robert Henderson, who no longer has a place to live. "My family and I sat helplessly as everything we owned was destroyed, but it's good to know that Governor Newsom is solving the problem by directing all available state funding toward DEI initiatives."

We've had record rainfall in the past three years and 95% of it ended up in the ocean. That's the Democrats' fault.
Like 88 says, the reason for these fires is the dry, windy conditions. Not just Santa Anas but the most severe conditions anyone has seen. And the record rains over the past couple of winters actually make things worse because of all the, now dry, vegetation that resulted. You all were the ones who were running around last year yelling “ the drought’s over! The drought’s over!” Now we haven’t had any measurable precipitation since last winter. Is that somehow the Democrats fault? Anyone who has been around here long enough knows that the drought is never over even when you get a couple of years of bigger than average rainfall.
And yes, it would be great if we had more storage. Is it specifically the Democrats fault? Maybe in your pea sized brain. Where exactly would you put this storage? You think you can just dig a big hole in the ground and call it a reservoir? It’s well known that pretty much all of the feasible locations are already being used. If you have one in mind, please let us know. Even if you put a big new lake in one of the inland valleys, you’re not going to be able to catch all the water raining on western slopes to fill it. And you’re talking in three year time frames. How long does it take to find a site (if there is one), acquire the land, plan and execute the construction and then fill it? Probably a little more than three years. And at what cost? It’s MAGAts like you, with a capacity for critical thinking of a three old, that think someone can just do it because they want to.
Re: Fire in Pacific Palisades
Yes there were $750 payouts. And what’s wrong with that? It’s been well established that FEMA was on the scene very quickly and making these payouts to folks that needed immediate emergency help with food, shelter, clothing, etc. Do you really have a problem with that? Payouts were not limited to this amount but you need to file something called a “claim” to establish what your losses were. Would you rather that they showed up and handed out $50,000 or $100,000 to anyone who looked like they needed help? The same people complaining about the $750 payouts would be yelling even louder.HighPlainsGrifter wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:47 pmWhat's ignorant about it? It’s very easy to find this information if you know how to use the internet. Everyone from local governments to relief organizations to the actual victims have repeatedly debunked this bullshit. As Mikey admits, we’ve had a few years of very wet winters which caused a lot of new growth. That new growth is now very good kindling.
Mikey and his fellow lefties like to ridicule those of us who promote actually doing things like maybe knocking back this new fuel.
That argument might make some sense in large rural areas, but in developed areas like PP, not so much.
You fukkers chose to live in a desert. That choice comes at a cost. You need to do what you can to fireproof the fukking place. All those rich fukks in PP spend plenty on landscaping. Maybe direct a little of those resources into getting rid of all that new shit that has fueled this inferno.
As for potential water storage, there are an awful lot of canyons that could be dammed to catch water. Trouble is, plenty of rich fukks like living in them and driving their BMWs through them. BMWs may be the ultimate driving machines, but they are piss poor submarines.
Rather than address these problems directly, they’d rather cry climate change.
Record rain falls like the last few years?
Climate change.
Drought?
Climate change.
Was a poorly designed/maintained hydrant system also caused by climate change?
