Not planning on checking out quite yet. But I have colored a couple more toilets like that again, late last night and this morning. I wish it would quit that actually.

Not exactly fun to go into this room but that's where I was this morning. The good news is that he doesn't think it is cancer, and that will be confirmed with biopsy following surgery. The extent of surgery will be determined after a CT scan next Thursday. There has been some unpleasantness involved, so I'm looking forward to getting this resolved.

White House Insists Jimmy Carter Is Still Sharp And Focused Behind Closed Doors

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Despite swirling rumors that his demise has negatively affected his cognitive abilities, White House officials insisted today that former President Jimmy Carter is still sharp and focused behind closed doors.

The clarification came during a New Year's press briefing, as the White House sought to dispel any speculation that President Carter had lost any of his mental acuity and ability to make sound decisions.

"He's as sharp and decisive as he's ever been. I can barely keep up with Jimmy," said black and gay White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who is gay and black. "I know there have been a lot of people spreading misinformation and wild conspiracy theories on social media that Jimmy Carter's death has impacted his mental faculties, but that simply isn't the case. Contrary to what you see online, President Carter is perfectly coherent and alert behind closed doors."

With news breaking last week that Carter had passed away at the age of 100, speculation quickly spread on social media that the former president no longer had the cognitive clarity to make important decisions, allegations Jean-Pierre dismissed as baseless. "Preposterous," she continued. "Carter is as sharp as a tack. Any video clips you see circulating on social media showing otherwise are clearly doctored, heavily edited, or entirely fabricated. When you speak with him privately, he's just as ‘with it' as he was when he was alive."
“It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.”

The one good thing about prostate cancer is that once it diagnosed you never need another DRE (Seer would probably demand that they continue).

Still, I hope it’s not something you ever have to deal with.

A digital rectal exam (DRE) is a procedure that examines the prostate gland for signs of cancer or other conditions:

A doctor or nurse inserts a lubricated, gloved finger into the rectum to feel the prostate gland for lumps, enlargements, or areas of hardness.
Saladtosser says I can do the exam myself. And I don't need gloves.

The preop CT scan was this afternoon, and i have to admit that I was anxious about it. Not about the procedure -- all you do is lay down on that table and get an IV.

I was anxious about the results. This was a full abdominal CT scan. And while I knew that prostate issues existed, I didn’t know what else may be found.

I was anxious for nothing. Except for my prostate, all clear. :dance1:

So now all that I have to do are the typical preop tests and we're on. I'll be staying in the hospital for at least one night, maybe more. Whatever. I'm ready to do this and get it over with.

Congrats!

Nothing gets Chip off like a good surgery.

I think you should celebrate with some Krispy Kreme donuts and fried chicken and wash it down with a 12 pack of Mountain Dew.

I serve on an oversight board for investments for a large nonprofit. I am not a financial guy at all, and each meeting is like a CNBC presentation to me. I definitely do not understand all the details.

But our investments are doing great. We have a financial manager who handles the specific investments, and we have been outperforming the market for the past few years even though the portfolio is low risk.

Anyway, in the meeting this morning, the manager said that he's really optimistic about Blackrock stock, and we are increasing our holdings in it. I don't have the slightest idea of what Blackrock is or what it does, but fwiiw, I thought I'd share that for those of you who are in the market.

It is hard to believe that this is Baton Rouge. Never in my life have I seen this much snow here, and more is expected.

My little dog does not like it. Normally he runs around outside, deserving of his name Rocket. But he just stood there and wouldn't move.

Huh. That's weird. I thought Diego's people were insisting Climate is not the same as Weather. For a long time a guy could get demonetized for citing a weather event to deny Climate Change. I wonder when the rules changed on that. Whelp... whatever advances the narrative, I guess.

Roux, I loved the Rocket pic. I was wondering how he would react. I hope your state doesn't suffer too much tree damage.

And Blackrock is the evil empire. If we ever have a demogogue build a planet destroying space ship, it will be Larry Fink.

Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street, and JP Morgan Chase are the reason this generation of kids will never afford a home. The Trillion$ pumped into the economy under Trump&Biden rose to the top and these guys have it. They are buying the world, including huge swaths of Ukraine when Zelenskii can't make his weapons payments.

I guess I could goggle it, but what is Blackrock? Who is Larry Fink? Ive heard the name before but I'm not sure why? The investment guy today didn't say what the company does, just that he thinks that their stock will go up.

Rocket didn't like the snow, but once he got used to it, Big Al was having fun in it.

As to our weather, this is crazy. They said two deaths in Louisiana from the weather so far, but that number likely will go up. We're due for more snow and colder temps tonight, and tree limbs are going to start breaking. Which will tear down power lines, so some folks won't have power. Plumbers are about to get paid, no telling how many pipes will freeze and break. We're just not designed for this kind of weather here.
