Hundreds of women were raped and burned alive during the chaos after a Rwandan-backed rebel group entered the Congolese city of Goma last week.

The female inmates were attacked in their wing inside Goma’s Munzenze prison during a mass jailbreak, according to a senior UN official.

The deputy head of the UN peacekeeping force based in Goma, Vivian van de Perre, said that while several thousand men managed to escape from the prison, the area reserved for women was set on fire.

Which camp did he see? What did he see, that scared him more than what he saw already as a POW? or did he talk about it?

Was he shocked that it happened at all, or shocked that the people he saw looked like him?

The Buchenwald concentration camp was built near Weimar, Germany, in 1937 and operated by Nazi SS soldiers, “the elite guard” of the brutal regime. Over the next eight years, about 277,800 people — primarily Jews but also Jehovah’s Witnesses, Sinti, Roma and those suspected of homosexuality — were held prisoner at the camp. About 56,000 people died at Buchenwald before the camp was liberated in April 1945.

After the camp was liberated, memorial officials said the human remains were kept as evidence of the crimes committed.

A German political prisoner initially took the small lampshade after the camp was liberated. Eventually, the artifact was handed over to officials and returned to Buchenwald for its memorial museum, memorial officials said....

2. If there are tattoos on any of the twelve items, why can't they match up a tattoo to the person in the records who was tattooed with that number?

4. Out of a quarter million people, 56,000 died between 1937 and 1945; what did the other 200,000 survivors have to say about who was chosen to be turned into leather, and who wasn't?
5. Why is a Holocaust Museum treating human flesh as impersonal 'artifacts' instead of human crime victims who need to be identified so that they can be returned home?
