According to the CATO institute (another one of those woke lib mouthpieces, right?) almost 90% of the fentanyl crossing the border is smuggled by US citizens at legal points of entry. If they stopped every illegal immigrant at the border it would account for less than 10%. But it sounds really good good put it on the illegals. How are 10,000 Mexican National Guard soldiers going to stop US citizens from crossing into the US? Isn't that up to CPB? I wonder if they're getting offered buyouts by DOGE.

The cartels are globohomo assets, the way Afghani poppy is an intelligence asset. They can be replaced like Ghadaffi, Noriega or Capone when the accountants figure it's more profitable to shut them down than outgrow the need for the accountants.
We need to control the border because the border is a security concern. It's dystopian to get tough on citizens inside the US but be lax on who's actually entering from outside the US.
The Mexican military is already at the border. There were complaints decades ago about their war games on US soil and the government not doing shit. The military is an arm of the cartels. If the Mexican National Guard now has orders to stop people from crossing, something else is up we're not privy to.
If fentanyl is ultimately Chinese, who exactly are the US citizens 'smuggling it in' from Mexico? Isn't it more likely most of the citizens involved in getting the components from China are anchor babies of anchor babies? Like stats about Americans smuggling bushmeat; Americans don't care about bushmeat, anchor babies of anchor babies do. Or like how notoriously hard it is to break into legitimate Chinese wholesales because they're racist and only truly want to deal with other Chinese. The Chinese aren't going to suddenly switch up their whole cultural outlook on commerce for drugs.
