Think about the number of pardons…unreal.

This man was absolutely the worst of the worst. We were deceived, misled, lied to on a daily basis by the Biden administration.

From May 18

@newtgingrich
The scale of corruption and manipulation in the Biden Presidency will dwarf any previous presidency. This is not about Biden. He clearly had no idea how he was Being manipulated.
Pew Research reported “on Jan. 17 alone, he granted 2,490 commutations, more in a single day than any prior chief executive had granted over their entire presidency.” No one believes Biden decided on 2,490 cases. The question is who did decide and why did they decide. You can go through case after case and wind up asking who were the real presidents in fact behind the cognitively impaired puppet pretending to be president?

Just a little bit of lying going on in that admin. Biden's obvious mental issue, now Biden's (should've been) obvious stage 4 cancer that apparently the WH Dr didn't have the time or need to test for, and the greatest hits of the past including Russiagate, fine people on both sides, COVID origins, 2020 most secure election of all time, border secure, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc....running out of ink here...etc. etc. etc......

Billy is on my list for this year.

Going to see Tedeschi Trucks Friday night at the Beacon theater.

BTW, I hope you threw your chardonnay at that douche, stand if everyone is standing, otherwise sit your ass down.
He's really a phenomenal performer. I've been waiting for a couple of years for a good chance to see him, and he did not disappoint. Funny thing is that he was the third billed performer at the "Outlaw Music Festival" with Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan. Sierra Hull, a great bluegrass mandolin player preceded Billy Strings, and joined his band for a few songs near the end of his set. I think a lot of the crowd was there mainly for Billy. I saw the same show at the same place last year, but #3 was John Mellencamp. I enjoyed that show but would not have gone back except for Billy. The venue (North Island Federal Credit Union Amphitheater - owned and operated by LiveNation) is a logistical fiasco. It took us about two and a half hours to get there (63 miles) mostly due to the horrible traffic once you get to the southern part of San Diego (this is near the border). But the traffic management getting and, even worse, getting out, is just horrible. The place holds about 20,000 with basically one way in and one way out. Every time I go down there (I've been maybe five times in the past 10 years) I promise myself that I will never go back. The problem is that they do have some good shows. I'd go back for Billy Strings.

We went to see George Benson on Sunday night at the Pechanga Casino Theater. A 1200 seat showroom 20 mile drive from here. Park in the casino parking structure, walk in before the show and basically no traffic getting out. Home in time for a late dinner. Benson is 82 years old and doesn't do anything newer than about 1980 but damn, he can still bring it. Especially the vocals. The voice is a bit deeper and the guitar isn't quite as fluid as it was 30 years ago but he and his band put on a really great show - had a majority of the people dancing in their seats by the end. He still does the scat vocals over some guitar solos with great aplomb.

One thing that pisses me off about music shows these days it that they don't keep to the starting times. The George Benson show was scheduled for 7:30 pm. We made sure we were there in time to park and get into the theater by about 7:20 and it was only about 25% full. People kept walking in and the show didn't actually start until almost 8:00. Even then there were people walking in after the lights went down. So how the fuck are you supposed to know when you actually have to get there? We have season tickets for the LA Opera. It's a 104 mile drive but I can get there in well less than two hours. We go to the Sunday matinees for five shows a year, and they start at 2:00 pm. The lights go down at 2:00 sharp and if you're not in your seat you won't get in until intermission, if there is one.

Tedeschi and Trucks put on a great show, BTW. I've seen them maybe four or five times, but not in the past ten years. They were always great performances. Enjoy.

Besides an opera in June, our next show is Alison Krauss and Union Station in July.

I had to Google that venue. I knew it only as the Coors Ampatheater (but never been there).

It's OK once you're inside. But logistically it's a mess.

First I've heard of Billy Strings. Based on Mikey's post, I thought I'd give a listen to a selection, Cocaine Blues.

Not my thing at all. Sounds like bluegrass or some such. No thanks.

But, as was indicated to me by a near and dear deceased relative once, to paraphrase:

"you are not allowed to criticize any music, any musical taste, because the retarded sh*t you listen to has rotted your pea-brain and made you a literal imbecile."

I always say, to each their own. I've always been pretty eclectic. "Discovered" bluegrass about 25 years ago, and some of the greatest instrumental musicians out there are playing bluegrass. So far this year we've been to see several concerts of chamber music both baroque and classical, jazz, bluegrass (which can be very close to jazz) and rock. Oh yeah, and a few operas. Back in the day I was a Deadhead but I was also listening to Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Yes, Weather Report, John Lee Hooker, etc., etc. My budget for album purchases got kind of out of hand sometimes. Not much into metal, punk, hip hop, or circus music, but that's just me.
