That symbol is just 4 Metallica "M script" logos connected together. It also could be the international sign for "This is when we start to really suck."

Black was when they strapped on the waterskis and eyeballed that shark.

Justice was overproduced, but still had a little of the edginess that made the previous efforts so great.
