Will be gone whenever that contract expires.
I was gonna get Direct TV this fall, as I am sick of comcast and the conversion to the digital box. Long story short, they gave me a free box, a shitload of premium channels for $49.99 and it included the NFL channel.
Right now, I can get most of the preseason games. I'm thinking whenever the exclusive runs out with Direct TV that deal will terminate and the NFL ticket will go through the NFL channel(s) - maybe in it's current form of a one year fee or possible all the games except the national telecast will be PPV.
I was gonna dump the cable when this 6 month promo runs out, but now I'm not so sure.
Thoughts?
Prediction - The Sunday NFL Ticket on Direct TV
Thoughts?
Well... hmm......?
I guess my thoughts are ... why is this such a big deal? Every Chiefs game is on the local tube. The networks seem to be doing a decent job of getting the best games to the majority of markets, during the other time slot. Sure, there will be 3 or 4 times a year, that I would rather watch another game, but 50% of the time, that game is a dud, or 50% of the time, the game that is on becomes a dud, and they switch too the game that I wanted to see.
Tickers and esp. fantasy tickers keep me updated just fine. I can log on, if I really MUST HAVE a fix, on a certain game.
Biggest truth in all of this, I actually enjoy watching what some percieve as a dog turd game once in a while. It basically forces me to watch a game that I normally would not, and more often than not, I end up enjoying the game, and learn about the teams involved.
As for the NFL, what they are gonna do in the future? Shit, who knows? Im not even gonna try and predict them doing anything, besides chasing the dollars. We all know they will do that.
Do what you need to do this season, and take it from there.
