Where should the Sugar Bowl be moved to?
Should it remain a BCS bowl?
does it go to Atlanta or should it move out west where the climate is better?

Even if they fix the Superdome, the city of New Orleans still needs to be fixed and that looks like it's gonna take awhile. I'd be surprised if anything is played there this year.Vito Corleone wrote:I have a feeling it is going to the Astrodome in Houston if the Superdome is not fixed in time.

Houston has to be the front runner given that they have two stadiums. Only three days prior ATL has the Peach Bowl. However, throw in Jacksonville as a wild card because the powers that be may want to keep it in SEC TV markets.

I hear Birmingham is a very real possibility.Left Seater wrote:Houston has to be the front runner given that they have two stadiums. Only three days prior ATL has the Peach Bowl. However, throw in Jacksonville as a wild card because the powers that be may want to keep it in SEC TV markets.

if i were a crass marketing exec (not that there any of them out there) i'd prop it at the Meadowlands and play up the help-relief-recovery angle in the biggest media market in the world. "we know it in NYC".

that's a good point. but, TV revenue dwarfs ticket revenue...and crass as it may be, it would be good spectacle. that's all that matters these days. the commercial "tie-ins" would be huge. a double dip of 9/11 and Katrina and a lot of flag-waving appeals for you to finance a new car or buy some new office databases?
and to quote K. Vonnegut: "no one ever went broke overestimating the vulgarity of the american people".

Why would they play in the Astrodome when Relient Stadium is 150 ft. away?Vito Corleone wrote:I have a feeling it is going to the Astrodome in Houston if the Superdome is not fixed in time.
The astrodome is a HOLE, thats why we don't use it anymore and why the city didn't give a crap if you stuck 20,000 people in it.
You will notice not a damned soul is stepping foot in the brand new building.
That all being said, the Relient is brand new, state of the art, and has housed a super bowl sussesfully. They need to go ahead and throw it over full time.
New Orleans isn't going to be back on it's feet for a VERY VERY VERY long time and probably will never be the same.
