OSU alum....

Post by peter dragon »

Now this isnt sour grapes.. the better team won on Saturday.. but I saw this on another site.. does anyone know why

Frost
Welch
Cotton
O'Neil
Wells
Haw

were all suspended for the game? not that the outcome would have been any different.. its just a question.. the best Ive seen was "violating team rules" any one?

haven't seen anything...to me it doesn't really matter...the 15 or so LITTLE things tOSU could have done to win that game wouldn't have mattered if Don Knotts was suited up...

although with the fact that our secondary looked average...O'Neil definitely would have seen some time...

also you forgot too mention one...

PAGING TED GINN Jr. where the fuck were you saturday...? we are still waiting for you to show up...

like peter said above...this is Not sour grapes....the better Team WON.

forgive me if i'm being an IODOT here....fellow BUCKEYEFans....

it seemed to me that Ginn was used in a Formation that had him on the INSIDE of a "Trips" formation...and THEN he was sent out in motion WIDE....towards the sidelines.

this occured QUITE Often.

Why?

why give the defender some sideline Help?

why not line him up outside of Gonzales and cross his route coming from the Outside with Gonzales moving from inside to out?

gives Ginn some more Open Field to work with?

isn't that the PLAN--->Ginn in the open field????

hell, if Ginn is lined up wide...he can motion IN towards the ball and still fake/take Reverses?

i merely run a small Golf Store....what do I know.

methinx that the Coaching Staff outsmarted themselves.

i would appreciate serious replies only and thanx.

tO$U enforces rules. :?
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

Q...I also read where the QB's stated they had Teddy open but didn't get him the ball...

a couple things about Ted:

1) He appeared to be pressing...case in point the easy drops on the first play and when TS threw him a pass
2) On one of the kickoff returns (I think he got 46 yards) he ran smack into Laurenitis...Laurenitis has to get the fuck out of the way and Ted just run north/south baby...the kicker is not going to get you
3) The TEXAS DB's did a fucking outstanding job on him...they picked their poison and let Holmes make some plays...tOSU just needed some more plays from Gonzo, et al..

no sour grapes here either (as represented from many of my posts)...tOSU lost plain and simple...they didn't execute and make plays at the right time...Texas did...hats off to them...

althought I will continue to say it..AJ Hawk played like a fucking monster!

I agree...Hawk played like a man possessed. Definitely see a Butkus in his future.

As for Ginn, He can help by catching what comes to him. I’m sure that Tressel will work out any bugs to get him open.

Bring on the rest of the season!

I actually liked the formation where Ginn is lined up outside and then was running routes back to the middle of the field from the three WR bunch. Most teams would play zone against that and it would create a mismatch with Ginn on a safety or LB. Texas however did a great job of covering him at times with their safeties.

The first few possessions of the game (Zwick at QB) Texas was in a cover 2 and wanting OSU to run. After the QB switch they came out of the cover 2 and went man most of the rest of the way.

Props to that defense for such an amazing performance after their special teams and offense worked against them all night.

From what I'm hearing Michale Huff just made himself a 1st round pick with his showing against Ted Ginn. The Texas coaches and NFL scouts have not stopped raving about the job he did. They are now talking about him as another Quintin Jammer type talent.

You guys should also realize that Texas does have a lot of talent in the defensive back field, most of it is underclassmen but they are really deep. I've heard as many as 5 guys in our 8 deep are NFL quality.

Michale Huff
Michael Griffin
Cedric Griffin
Tarell Brown
Aaron Ross

According to the Akina there are 3 other Dbs in Brandon Foster Bobby Tatum (nephew of Jack Tatum) and Erick Jackson who have the talent but are over shadowed by the other guys.

Since Mack has arrived Texas has done a hell of a job recruiting DBs. Oline and Dlinemen.

I agree with B_n_sc, Hawk is easily the front runner for the Butkus, he reminds me of Derek Johnson and I don't think I can give a better compliment than that.
