Hats on to Ronny Franchise and all of the other greats that have hung it up before this year. We're bound to lose a few more legends after next year. This is another facet of the NHL...a changing of the guard. I wish some of these guys could play forever but they've given us a lot of great memories. I'm looking forward to a new era of the NHL.

Most underrated player ever.
Ronnie was to hockey what Edwin Moses was to the 400m hurdles--he wasn't the greatest pure scorer, and he wasn't the fastest skater, but he was possibly one of the best students of the game. I always considered it a privilege to have him playing for the WhalerCanes, and I'll certainly miss seeing him out there on the ice.

We didn't get too many Whalers games on the west coast, so the only time I ever heard it was playing NHLPA 93-NHL 97
