Ain't it amazing that he only made one comment? And that was the comment he chose to make?Cicero wrote:Yeah, its not like they have a good team or anything.
Ok, King C., who would YOU rank at #1 going into this season?

And the last thing we need in the White House, in the oval office, behind that big desk, is some chicken who wants to push this yellow button.

I'm not a Duke hater of principle*....and i used to be a big fan of Vitale when he was calling Big East games on ESPN in the early-mid 80's. but the guy has been a parody of himself for at least a decade. the emoticon was part of that. the guy follows hoops, but knows very little more than the same schtick he's developed to turn himself into a cartoon character.rozy wrote: Ok, King C., who would YOU rank at #1 going into this season?

Same m.o. Both love FSU football and Duke basketball. Weird, considering both teams have consistantly been in the top 10 since they both can remember.MuchoBulls wrote:CR25??Cicero wrote:Yeah, its not like they have a good team or anything.

No denying the success of each school but when I was like 14-16 in 94-96, DUKE was a middle of the pack ACC team and was getting killed by UNC. I stuck w/ them then and yet they have only won one title since 92. So I do root for them as well as FSU, I would say that some of their appeal does come from that they occupy the same conf as FSU and I like to see teams from my conf do well.Killian wrote:Same m.o. You claim that you're not Crown, yet both root for FSU football and Duke basketball?Cicero wrote:No denying the success of each school but when I was like 14-16 in 94-96, DUKE was a middle of the pack ACC team and was getting killed by UNC. Btw, since I was always a ND football fan, it never occurred to me to be anything but a ND basketball fan. Rooting for different schools in college football and college basketball is the ultimate in bandwagoning, imho.
Having said all of that, I do agree with you in one (very limited) respect: now that ND is a member of the Big East, come tournament time I root for all Big East teams to do well.
