Goals, Goals, And More Goals

I know it was only pre-season, but 49 goals last night, 8.1/game. Is this an aberration or a sign of the season to come?

Refs are calling everything by the book, increasing power plays. Goalie equipment is smaller, and the new rules encourage offense. Once things settle down, we probably will see around 6-7 goals per game.

Right on the money. Stars hosted Edmonton two nights ago....20 freaking penalties called. 2/3 of the game was played at <5-on-5. But it sort of has to be done to get players accustomed to the new rules.
