Bruschi will try to return
After checking with doctors, linebacker confirms bye week is perfect time

Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi, who has been sidelined since suffering a stroke Feb. 15, confirmed last night he will attempt to make a return to football this season, beginning with the team's bye week following tomorrow's game in Denver.
Looks like he will give it a go following the Denver game. That gives him the bye week to suck it up and see how he may handle the contact by practicing with the rest of the team. If it doesn't work I hope he is wise enough to call it a year. If it does work this could really shore up the middle of the field for the Patriots defense. They sure could use his talent and leadership back on the field.

I hope the guy doesn't try to get back on the field... for his family's sake.
the truth
His family has given their blessing. Doctors have told him he is not at risk. The team is covering their ass too. It's Bruschi who has made this decision He is a big boy and I have faith in his judgement of what is best for him......
If the man thinks he can do it, what right does anybody have to say he shouldn't? His biggest problem won't be the stroke, it will be not being in football shape for the first 4-5 games he plays. For the Pats, it might not be enough to carry them past their other injuries.

He has been working out with the team for the past 2-3 weeks. Not practicing mind you because he can't as he is on PUP. He has been working out in full pads and alot of people say he has gained weight recently. Looks like he will start practicing with the rest of the guys over the bye week. He will be ready if he can go.....
I agree B. It's his call. He lives in a state that has 4 of the best hospitals in the world. If his specialists say he is ok to play then it's up to him, his family, and the team to let him out there. All signs point to them already having done that......
He gets his money if he plays or not. I doubt that this is motivated by anything other than Bruschi's love for the game AND his belief that he can contribute positively to the team. Truthfully it should only come down to his decision since he is cleared to play. Let the player play. I have confidence that coach Belichick will not let him on the field if he is not able to perform at his position. That will be decided over the next two weeks as he goes through contact and regular practice with the team. Only time will tell from here. The Patriots have 3 weeks after the Denver game to decide.
