Um, get it while you can. 10?!
Does Vegas really expect the gp to lay on Baltimore with anything less than 21 1/2? 28?
I mean I was salavating, waiting for this game after a few weeks into the season but now I am about to explode. If there has been anything we can count on over the years, it's been betting against Favre in a dome, maybe The Spurs pounding The Clippers, The Devil Rays over The Yankees and The Steelers anihilating The Ravens (except during Lewis' monster year).
Maybe this will be the perfect jinx but I'll take this match up as The Treat of the evening. This one should be quite ugly. Take the half, take the game, time to go all in and double up.
10
How in the world do The Ravens stay within 10?!

The line is still at 10.
It's only moved 1.5 since it opened.
The Patriots on the other hand, have improved 2 pts, to a 9 pt favorite. This puts one of my universal betting theories to the test. Anytime a line moves 2 or more pts, bet the opposite. It hits about 79% of the time.
Of course, the last time I posted a LOTW, my bet against Monday Night Winnner traveling across country the following week as a favorite (83% success rate) bit the dust.
Btw -- Reed and Lewis are definitely out. I'm surprised the line hasn't moved further.

Why? The Steelers don't traditional blow teams out. They get a lead and take the air out of the ball. Under the circumstances, I can understand why this game has a 10 point spread.

The Ravens are scoring 11.5 ppg. To take them you need to assume they will allow less than 22 points to the Steelers on the road. Not likely. Lay the 10.
Now pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the fucking car.
As an aside -- can you supply me with the Steelers record at home against the spread on Monday Night during the Cowher era?
I bet you it's 70%+
Sorry, I'm a football fan, not a degenerate gambler.
Meaning, dipshit couldn't pick a football game if his life depended on it.
Steelers Steelers rah rah rah.
Um, it's the "degenerates" that have helped make this sport as popular as it is and it doesn't take a "degenerate" to throw a few bucks on a game once in a while. Shit, I haven't even made a bet since SC thumped Oklahoma. Once in a while you have to take a shot when it's there for the taking. You just have to be SMART ENOUGH to know when to take your chances.

Whatever. If you want to lose your rent check to your online book, go right ahead.
Where do you stand? Can you supply me with the Steelers record at home against the spread on Monday Night during the Cowher era? Never mind that only one player is still on the Steelers from their Super Bowl XXX team.

You can't go wrong with either pick. Tim Rattay has had two weeks to brain dump the 49ers playbook into John Gruden's game plan. On the other hand, the Steelers should cruise over the Ravens' dilapitaded defense and broken down offense.

Fucking RACK... dude is definitely the most useless fucker in this forum. Never has a objective take... he can't discuss the Steelers rationally and he can't discuss other teams because he knows jack outside of the Steelers. What a fucking waste.

Must have missed the Eagles-Broncos game thread. That you are riding PISC's nutsack is all the rest of us need to know about your "game".

I guess you missed where PISC STARTED This thread.
You are a nobody who can't even come correct about who he (or she) roots for. So fuck you and your sister for trying to paint someone else as a homer when you can't even come straight you fucking fag.
Now, you want to talk football? Tell me why you think that line is wrong? It is a division game featuring two teams that are known to prefer ball control offenses and good defense. Indy vs Houston rated a 17 point line last week. You can't think this game is as potentialy lopsided as that game?

I didn't miss it, I just quit posting in it when Steeler fan (e.g. you) decided that you have more at stake in the game than the fans of the two teams involved.
No matter, it's another thread you can chalk up as "kilt".

I root for whomever my money is on... everyone knows this. I've started at least one hundred Lock Of The Week threads since SC3.
The Steelers dominate at home on Monday Nights. The Ravens have a shit offense going up a great D. The Ravens will be without their two best defensive players, Lewis and Reed. Roethleswhathisname is healthy, Ward is healthy, Parker is healthy, Bettis is healthy. The Ravens avg 11 pts/game. Anemic!! The Steelers "struggles" at home this year have come against playoff caliber opponents. Against a shit team, Tennessee, they won 34-7. This will be one of those rare instances where the line moves 2+ pts and the betting public will hit.
Did I mention the Ravens offense sux and they're missing Reed and Lewis?
My predictions:
Steelers will get 200+ yards rushing and their defense forces 3+ turnovers.

Steelers 30 Ravens 6
Hey, I hope you're right. I've got some FFL money riding on the Steelers D and Willie Parker and it wouldn't suck seeing tham hang 30 on the Ravens ever. But I'm thinking a 24-14 score with a garbage time TD for the Ravens would not be out of line. Not that the Steelers aren't capable of scoring more, but Cowher tends to take the air out of the ball as soon as he is able.

You pass judgement on all like this without knowing the facts? Let's see you can't read the rules to fantasy football, can't read what I wrote here, hmmmmm...3 letters for ya, GED. Get on it.
What part did you not understand about not laying down since SC Oklahoma? Bwa! What'd I lay $300 maybe? Yup, gonna forelcose on my cardboard box soon. Gonna have to ask my dog if I can move in but he may not give me kitchen privledges.
Now quiet down, chode...unless you want to continue being tossed around like a rag doll being shredded by pitbulls.

No irony here.
BTW, FFL is still gay.

God damn, it is fucking hilarious how there is always one guy every year that enjoys getting the shit kicked out of him all season long.

You can almost always count on the betting public to take a beating.
Btw -- the Steelers are now 11-0 on Monday night at home under Cowher.
Don't go beating your chest though... you stated that Tampa was a good pick earlier in the week in a different thread.
If you recall, the topic of this thread was wether or not a 10 point line was too little for this game. My take was that it was more than reasonable.
As for the Tampa-SF game, I don't remember a take on that game. But I did think about Tampa Bay for my suicide pool pick before going with New England.
But hey, you want real balls? I know a guy who picked Houston in his suicide pool this week. Now that takes some sack.

I remember reading about a Cleveland player complaining about "not getting respect" because Vegas had the audacity to have installed winless Houston as the favorite heading into the game.
