Question for BcS experts

I doubt this will come into play, but was curious. If I understand the rankings in the BcS correctly, a road game carries more weight than a home game. So my question is...

If LSU runs the table the rest of the way, will their "home" game versus ASU cost them a shot at a BcS game versus if it was ruled what it really was, a road game???

If LSU runs the table the rest of the way, they'll probably get an automatic bid as the SEC champ, so whether the Arizona State game was a home game or a road game won't matter. Just sayin'. :wink:

The BCS is there to supposedly single out the #1 and #2 teams in the country for the title game, shine. Nothing more. Where the chips fall after that re: LUS is kinda beside the point. Just win out an LSU is headin' to a BCS game.

Right now LSU controls its destiny but that is a good question. The SEC is a hard conference to put your finger on, everytime I think one school is the best something happens to change my mind.

As of this weekend I think LSU is the best team in the conference and both the unbeatens will fall in the next few weeks. I do think they will likely only get one team in the BCS due to Notre Dame. It is more likely that both Vtech and Miami get in than a 2nd SEC school.

Pathetic as North Texas is now they were a decent team not long ago. LSU couldn't have known they'd suck this bad. I'll give them a pass on it. But playing a couple of patsies now definitely helps them. It gives them a shot at beating Bama and means they shouldn't finish the season worse than 9-2.

If theyre scheduling a Sun Belt team, they know/knew theyd be bad.... North Texas had a decent record a few years back cause they were the strongest patsie in the Sun Belt.
Anyone know the all time record for Sun Belt schools vs SEC schools?




coming in to this season, Sun Belt schools have won just 10 out of 184 meetings vs SEC schools. When you see Sun Belt schools on the schedule your team is just buying a win by paying them to come to your house and get blown out

Disagree. As I see it, the only way Miami gets into the BCS is by beating Va Tech, then winning the ACC championship game. Admittedly, if this happens both Miami and Va Tech will probably get into the BCS if Va Tech only has one loss.

If Georgia and Alabama both go into the SEC championship game unbeaten (a possibility, although Alabama will need to get by both LSU and Auburn first), then both should get into the BCS unless one team flat out gets blown out of the SEC championship game.

If both of these scenarios take place, I'm afraid ND is the one left out in the cold. I don't see anyway that we'll finish in the Top Six, which is what we need to be guaranteed a BCS bid.

if it came down to tOSU and ND for the at large spot considering both have 2 losses right now and that could change what do you think will happen?

I mean tOSU (if everything stays the same) would have lost by 3 points to Texas and 7 to PSU (10 total points)...ND would have lost by 1 to MSU (or was it 3?) and they lost by 1 to USC...

now that MSU is off the radar does that reflect more poorly on ND? It doesn't seem to be affecting their standing much as they are the highest rated 2 loss team but it just seems tOSU isn't getting as much credit for their 2 losses to top 10 teams...

just asking for debeate and or discussion...

Buckeye, if everything played out and ND and OSU ran the table, it would be hard to pick one over the other. I don't know what would happen, but I would assume that ND would get selected if they are eligible.

That is in order to be elligible. Terry is right that ND has to be top 6 to be guaranteed a BCS spot. That being said, there's no way they get passed up if they're elligible. Having ND in your bowl game is a financial windfall that no bowl could pass up. I've gone to the Insight Bowl the last 5 or 6 years, and it had never come close to being sold out. When ND was there last year, it was a fucking zoo. I don't know if it was a sellout, but it had to be close.
