Gotta agree with mvscal....I don't think you would have stopped him if they'd ran him more.

You're just lucky he only threw 1 TD against you. We're looking for 2 TD passes from LT here in the next few games

One thing about mvscal.

He's just as gracious in victory as he is in defeat.

Kansas City has a good run defense. By no means is it the best in the league, but it's not a walkover as in previous years, either. They weren't going to stop LT, but they weren't going to get shredded on the ground, either. In that phase of the game, they did what was needed against one of the most dangerous players in the league and moved the outcome of the game elsewhere.

That said, it would take a completely moronic coach (an anti-Martz, if you will) to pass up yesterday's gift, and while conservative to a fault, Schottenheimer is no stubborn moron. A rusty Warfield, limping Surtain and injured McCleon isn't going to bode well for a secondary that has struggled all season long. While our defense has taken some considerable strides this season, it simply doesn't have the depth nor personnel at other positions to overcome those types of injuries.

An ugly second-half recipe for our defense, and we couldn't even take advantage of the one gift Brees allowed.

Castillo's red zone sack and Allen's INT-negating personal foul proved to be the backbreakers for Kansas City.

On that goal line series, the Bolts defense executed ... Chiefs didn't.

EOS.

Tough team that plays well at home. The fact that Kansas City remained in the game with a shot to the bitter end at all is about the only positive I'll take from yesterday.

Props to the Bolts on the big win.

Huh?

The interception still stood. The foul occured after the play was over & they marked off the 15 yards from the end of Greg Wesley's return.

Hockulee out front should have told you.

Besides... that INT didn't happen if Allen didn't leap & get in Brees' face, causing te pass to be off target. I'll let Allen pass for being a little too energetic, which was more than I can say for the KC first half offense.

The main problem with that exchange was that the Chiefs just fumbled the ball back to them a few plays later. Now THAT was a backbreaker.

Kansas City's defense actually allowed 7 points less than I had them figured for in this game. Had KC actually TRIED to pass downfield in the first half, KC would have made the SD defense look like shit for four quarters. I originally thought the coaches were taking it easy on Green after his dad's death, but Green put up a 300+ yard passing day, despite only netting 30 of those yards in the first half. Yeah, fine, KC made halftime adjustments. Why in the fuck did they need to adjust for in the first place, when all of the media hype over the game said that SD's defense was reeling, and that downfield passing would be the key to KC winning?

Shitty game plan on the part of the offense lost this game.
Nope. Not dead.

S'what I meant, actually. The additional field position at that point, plus the drive-killing fumble, helped negate the INT.

Like the Chiefs, I took the gas pipe trying to s'plain it.

Did Kennison really catch that ball at the beginning of the game? It sure looked like he did.

Let's see how they do in stopping Lamont Jordan while Moss, Porter, and Gabriel are running free in the Chief's secondary.
