Huston Street and Ryan Howard win Rookie of the Year honors. Can't argue with either pick. Howard was a monster when he filled in for Thome. Street is going to be a great closer.

It's not Howard's fault he plays for an idiot organization.
Believe me, Howard winning it does NOT hurt my card collection as I have a couple of really low numbered autographs of his. But Taveras should have won it. I'm not going to go psycho complainer-arguer about it as Howard is deserving.
The NL needs to kick it up next year. There was no Jason Bay this time.

Stark is all over Santana's jock for Cy Young. Santana statistically had another solid year but he did it with no one watching him. Last year was so remarkable because he did all that in the heat of a division race. I think he deserved consideration but he's no better than third behind Colon and Rivera in my book. Guys who deliver for teams in contention get a little more consideration than those out of the race simply because of the pressure of the starts. Santana could go out and torch teams like he did last year but the Twins weren't contending. It's like hitting 50 home runs for a last place team...A-Rod. If a guy puts up comparable numbers and does it in a more pressure packed situation, I give him a little more credit. Santana will be a Cy Young candidate for the next decade but he didn't deserve it this year.

Willis had the great start and had a great year but Carpenter was the most consistent pitcher this season by far. I don't think there's another choice for the Cy Young.
Also, the writers got the manager of the year picks correct: Guillen and Cox. I would've favored Wedge over Guillen if the Indians didn't fade in the last week and miss the playoffs. Amazing how the Sox were this close to completing the worst collapse in sports history and then go on one of the best playoffs runs in baseball history.

Thats cause ESPN is now more interested in creating news than reporting news. That company is turning into a bunch of blowhards. Besides Mike Greenberg, Trey Wingo, Kenny Mayne, Karl Ravech, Harold Reynolds and Kirk Herbstreit, the rest of ESPN can eat a dick as far as I am concerned.
