What say ye Oklahoma Fan? I was shocked to see Leech run it in with 4 seconds left and no timeouts. Thought for sure there would be another quick slant.

Nicely done, Big 12. You've sufficiently punished us for losing in the BCS title game two years in a row. Now go fuck yourselves. Wonder if that deal to play as an independent from NBC is still open?

Making the Auburn mommmy cry wasn't so bad either but I'll need to sober up before I get into that.

They threw a flag (illegal toughing at that point) and then picked it up with no explaination. Didn't appear he was forced out.
Where were the replay dudes? You'd of thunk the flag would have them checkin' somethin' on that play.
Face it, the Big 12 crews are really shit officials.

I have a question......
We all know OU got screwed. That is not debateable. But did they review it? I assume not because there is no way they could have reviewed that and NOT overturned the call. Even Lefty's bias towards College Football refs couldn't prevent him from ripping on the officials that mucked that call.
Either way, see ya in San Antonio Sooner fan!

Christ, I think they picked some fucking senile old dumbfucks to call the game.
I just LOVE how the Tech reciever ran OUT OF THE BACK OF THE FUCKING END ZONE, only to return and catch the football for a BULLSHIT touchdown. The dumbfuck refs threw a flag, and then said, "oh sorry about that... I screwed up." Yeah, you did... by being a blind idiot.
That football did NOT cross the fucking end zone at the end.
If the officiating had been done CORRECTLY, OU would have won. Not that their play was good, but at least OU didn't have to resort to fucking cheating or biased refs to win.
Thank goodness the Spurs won, so it took some of the frustration away.
I swear, they need to sack a couple of those refs. Fuckers.

projections for the Alamo i've seen have Wiscy as the Big 10 rep.
but, i'm with BtH.....i think Alamo is about where OU belongs at this point though will likely be underdogs. not going to the Cotton Bowl to get worked by Auburn (and listen to the "proves who belonged in the 2004 Orange Bowl" nonsense and media buildup of something totally irrelevent to this year) is the one upside of getting hosed in Lubbock.
However, if Tech plays Bama in Dallas i'll be miffed. I think OU could take Bama.
If CU takes care of business against NU and doesn't get utterly hammered by UT.... i think they will be in the Holiday Bowl. outside of the name, OU can't be very attractive to them....OU fan has already traveled to SoCal once this year to play UCLA and played UO last year and will make the roadie to Eugene next year. neither matchup seems too hot.
though, i've read some stuff about Iowa State being on the Holiday's radar. they have to beat KU first, but maybe NOT playing in the conference chamionship is an advantage?

I think it'll be Michigan-Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl, myself.
If Oregon goes to the BCS, then Oklahoma certainly won't go to the Holiday Bowl. The Holiday Bowl would have to take UCLA as its Pac-10 rep, and I don't think they want a regular-season rematch. Look for UCLA-Colorado in that game.
I think the Big Ten sends tOSU to the Cap One, and Wisconsin to the Outback. Sorry, JON, but the Alamo will pick Michigan over Iowa. Both are 7-4, and Michigan lost to two Top 10 teams and beat another. Iowa lost to two Top 10 teams but has no wins against a Top 10 team. Throw in the fact that Michigan has more tradition, greater fan interest on a national level, etc.
Note: the above is based on ND and Oregon projected as BCS at-large teams. If tOSU gets a BCS at-large bid, then Iowa moves up to the Alamo Bowl. Of course, if Oregon doesn't get a BCS at-large bid, you could see Oklahoma in the Holiday Bowl.

Iowa State is better off without the north championship IMO, by finishing 8-3 they could get back to the top25 which makes them more attractive. But the Holiday may not be much of a prize if they have to play a pissed-off Ducks team that doesn't really belong in a mid-tier bowl. Hopefully the ducks would pull a Cal/KSU, get pissy and not come to play.King Crimson wrote:projections for the Alamo i've seen have Wiscy as the Big 10 rep.

I guess an ass hitting at the one yard line is no longer considered down.
edit:
Right now I'd rather go to San Antonio than San Diego. I think CU is headed to SD anyhow. We go to San Diego and we're going to get butcher-raped by Oregon.

Good points, but I still see Colorado going to the Holiday for two reasons. One is a better tradition than ISU. Two, there's a sizeable contingent of Colorado alumni in SoCal. For my money, Iowa State ends up in the Houston Bowl.Danimal wrote:Iowa State is better off without the north championship IMO, by finishing 8-3 they could get back to the top25 which makes them more attractive. As I've said on another thread, I think Oregon gets an at-large BCS bid, assuming USC beats UCLA, and UCLA is the Pac-10's rep in the Holiday Bowl.
I think that's the bowl game Nebraska ends up in, but I'd be very surprised if FSU winds up there. Remember, this is the team that used to own the ACC, and the Champs Sports Bowl gets the fourth pick from the ACC.I'm still interested to see what happens to Neb, there has been talk of playing FSU in Orlando. Can you say bitchslapping kids? I thought you could.
The Gator Bowl picks second, and FSU has a much greater following in the J-ville area than does Goldtooph. So for my money, FSU gets the Gator Bowl bid if they beat Florida next week then lose to Va Tech, although the fact that FSU went to the Gator Bowl last year could be a detriment to them in that regard.
If FSU is still around after the Gator Bowl picks, the Peach Bowl will take them. You can all but take that to the bank. The only possibility that the Peach Bowl passes on FSU is if Florida beats FSU and the Peach Bowl really wants Florida over South Carolina as its SEC rep.
Assuming Nebraska winds up in the Champs Sports Bowl, your opponent probably will be BC or Georgia Tech, possibly Clemson, but I think FSU will be gone before the Champs Sports Bowl can pick. A slim possibility of FSU, but not likely.

Bama playing in the Cotton Bowl is a good possibility, but not a done deal yet. If LSU loses in the SEC championship game, I think LSU would go to the Cotton Bowl. And if LSU wins the SEC championship game and Notre Dame gets passed over for the BCS, I think the Cotton Bowl might take Notre Dame. The Cotton Bowl can take either a Big East team or Notre Dame once in a four-year period over the SEC, and I think this might be the ideal year for them to do that if LSU winds up in the BCS and ND gets passed over.King Crimson wrote:However, if Tech plays Bama in Dallas i'll be miffed. I don't know anyone. But I work for a local radio station. And our afternoon host does know someone very close to the selection process.
Wisconsin, regardless of what they do against Hawaii, is a LOCK for the CapOne bowl assuming tOSU goes to the BCS. Michigan is then a lock for the Outback Bowl, UNLESS the opponent happens to be Georgia. If Georgia is the opponent, and that is very slim, Iowa would go to the Outback. The reason for that is because Georgia did not travel real well last year to Tampa and they would want Iowa because we would travel better than Michigan even though Michigan has more of a national following and larger fan base.
Assuming UGA is not the SEC team in the Outback Bowl, Iowa would be a virtual lock for the Alamo.
Now, as for the Big-12.....
Texas Tech is 100% a lock for the Cotton. As long as Texas does not lose to A&M and then again in the Big-12 championship game, Texas Tech is going to Dallas. The Holiday Bowl wants OU. So if they beat Okie State, Sooner fans can go ahead and book their flights to San Diego. It's so obvious they want OU and not ISU or Colorado. However, if OU loses, then it comes down to ISU and Colorado. Neither team is attractive to any bowl because they have piss poor fan bases. But the Holiday Bowl would rather have CU only because they think people will drive from Colorado down to San Diego.
However, if CU loses to Nebraska and OU loses to OSU and ISU beats Kansas, ISU would be a lock for the Holiday Bowl. Oklahoma would go to Alamo, and either Colorado or Nebraska would end up in Houston.
Now there is a relatively decent shot of an Iowa-ISU rematch in the Alamo Bowl and that's what I'm rooting for. I'd even go so far to say it's about a 30-35% chance. If ISU beats Kansas, OU beats OSU and CU beats NU but loses to Texas, then it will come down to whether or not the Alamo Bowl wants to select ISU or Colorado to face Iowa. Actually, it's moreso, whether or not Mastercard wants to see and Iowa-CU or Iowa-ISU game. If the bowl had it's way and the San Antonio bureau of tourism had it's way, they'd take Iowa-ISU without a doubt. For ESPN, I don't think it makes much of a difference. So basically, if Mastercard is sold on it, I'd bet Iowa plays ISU in the Alamo Bowl if they beat Kansas.
As for tOSU......only thing that will keep them out of the BCS is a Texas loss in the Big-12 Championship game or a USC loss to UCLA. Otherwhise they are in and I'd bet on them facing Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. It is possible Penn State could be ND's opponent in the Fiesta Bowl, but I think tOSU is most likely going to be the opponent.
